3 shows in 3 days. First leg of tour is donezo and what a blast it was. Golly we're so damn happy to be back and playing new tunes for y'all. We're hearing the new songs rip? Apparently people love them and think they are cool? They're so good that my credit score went up?
We're back in Toronto for our next gig. May 22nd at Sneaky Dee's. Then we're properly hitting the road in June for Detroit, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Rochester and Ottawa. See ya out there!

Last night in Toronto was freakin' awesome. Such a special, inclusive & engaging community they've got up there. Huge thanks to @lovelesscollectivex and the great bands we played with (seriously, go listen to @lusterrdust , @thenvrminds & @capitol_band ). But tonight we're back in the USA and on our home turf at Nietzsches in Buffalo. We're playing some new tunes we wrote during hibernation and believe you me, they are they've got some RIFFS. See ya there :)

Hey, listen. Winter hibernation is coming to a close. We're gonna hit the studio & announce some sick nasty tours when the time is right. Let's just say, Elemantra International will be back this year in full force. Merci. Stream "Smother" and just be kind to one another in the meantime.
"Smother" is a song I didn't want to write. It confronts the pure, wide eyed love I used to have for music. The fire that burned inside me that pushed me to explore and create, and how it's slowly being snuffed out. So many things that once brought me joy have been reduced to chores that I trudge through because they're a part of me - or maybe they only used to be. And that scares me.
To write about these feelings would be acknowledging they are real, and to acknowledge that reality is to accept that I'm changing into someone I don't recognize or want to be. Maybe it's because of some vague or tired disdain for the modern age - which is a lecture we've all heard a million times. Maybe it's being a fully fledged adult, working 50+ hours a week, paying a mortgage and sending emails that just sucks the life and motivation out of me. Maybe I'm just aging and becoming bitter. Maybe it's the absolutely shit state of the world that makes music and hobbies seem trivial. Maybe I'm just lazy.
But "Smother" attempts to confront these feelings of defeat. And that's what it is - a constant state of defeat. A weighted blanket designed to smother. And I can't pinpoint the exact source, but I'm confident you all can relate. I hope so at least. I also hope you like "Smother". Thanks for reading and listening.
