The month long Electro challenge is officially over! I have come a long way from knowing nothing about Electro to making it my primary style. I practiced at least 1 hour a day but more often closer to 2 hours. I will continue to do so but I am admittedly tired of recording myself everyday.
I want to focus more so I can find my personal flow and develop it into a battle style. Also to continue learning so I can be a more effective teacher. I will continue to post more Electro content here and on @electroseattle occasionally. Just not everyday. 😆

WHY SHOULD I TRY ELECTRO?
Tired of going out to EDM music events and standing still? Want a great workout with HIIT like pacing? Maybe you’re looking for a party, dance class, community, and workout all in one while going to sleep at a reasonable time. Maybe you are an experienced dancer looking to expand your vocabulary. Or maybe you just want to spice up your boring gym routine with something novel that actively expands your movement abilities. Whatever the reason Electro is worth a try!
IS THIS A CLASS? WILL THERE BE CHOREOGRAPHY?
Half the time will be instructional. The other half will be open session where you can practice your moves, socialize, and request individual instruction. Electro is primarily a freestyle dance, but to learn the foundations there will be a warm up, drills, drill variations, and short choreography. This is to help you not be too overwhelmed while also building your conditioning. Quality over quantity!
WHEN AND WHERE?
Tuesdays 7:30 - 9pm @ Shift Movement
and Healing Arts (3517 Stone Way N, 98103)
- To access the studio ring the doorbell if you arrive late. Please do not park in the spots directly in front of the entrance.
Fridays 6:30 - 8pm @ Dance Fremont (8420 Greenwood Ave N 2nd Floor, 98103)
- To access the studio go through the metal gate and up the stairs. Please do not park in the Windermere spots as you may get a ticket.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
It is donation based. Give what you can to show your appreciation. No pressure if you are not financially able to.
WHAT ARE THE STUDIO RULES?
Bring your own water bottle if you can. There is filtered water available at both studios. No outdoor shoes in the dance studio. You are allowed to wear clean indoor only non-marking shoes.
Respect the space and each other. No smoking, vaping, alcohol, or strong scents in the studio. For any complaints, concerns, or feedback talk immediately to the instructor.
Please DM @electroseattle on Instagram for details on how to access the studios. Late arrivals must message us to be let in because the doors at both studios auto lock from the outside.

Electro (also incorrectly known as Tecktonik) is a high energy club dance from Paris that grew popular in the mid 2000s. Incorporating fast arm movements, heavy grooves, complex threading, and angular poses the dance is usually done to electro house or techno.
While popular in places like France, Russia, Japan, and Mexico the United States has a much smaller presence in Electro, particularly in the Northwest and Seattle… until now.
Introducing weekly Electro dance sessions at Shift Movement and Healing Arts in Fremont. The first 30 minutes will be dedicated to learning foundation, drilling, and arm conditioning. The rest of the time will be open practice.
💸Cost is donation based. Give what you can to help cover the space but no pressure.
👟 NO outdoor shoes inside. Non marking indoor shoes are okay
💧Bring a water bottle. Refill station available.
🎵The music may be loud at times so bring earplugs if needed.
