DJ Mag Presents linked up with Saturday Saturday and EBB for a huge night in Mexico City, with Channel Tres delivering a slick mix of deep house, hip-hop, and techno grooves.
Support came from Pablo Miya, plus local favourites Julia Toporek and Camila Valero.
🇺🇸🇺🇸CHANNEL TRES. Channel Tres, emerged from Compton’s musical scene as a purveyor of innovation, pushing thetraditional spirit of West Coast rap into unexplored territories. He’s toured globally, from major festivalsto sold-out arenas. For Channel, music is about reconnecting with his own history, whether it’s in hislyrics, or through the influences and musical history that he uncovers in his production. His last EP i can’tgo outside debuted in Spotify’s Top 10 US Album Debuts with features from Tyler, The Creator andTinashe. With his forthcoming debut album Head Rush, he opens his most exciting musical chapter todate. For Channel Tres, the decision to finally drop an LP is a deeply personal one. “There were thingsabout my story that I didn’t know how to express, musically or lyrically,” he says. But after a sometimestrying period of growth, he’s finally ready to articulate this chapter of his life: “I would say my artistry hasgrown to a place where I’m comfortable sharing this much at one time.” Head Rush is a richly layeredrecord, but one that feels totally intuitive, without a trace of doubt or self-consciousness. Throughout hiscareer, Tres has blended recognizable genres, textures, and points of view into a truly singular form allhis own. 🇳🇱The two brothers of Dutch origin grew up influenced by jazz and classical music – after having travelled the world enriching themselves in different cultures and sounds, are now settled in Amsterdam as composers, performing artists and label owner of “Klassified”.
Combining their individual characters and close bond with a shared love of creation and composition, a symbiosis in brotherhood is shown in a conversation between instruments, voices and electronic sounds illustrating the rhythm of life
Proposing either live, hybrid or DJ acts, Parallells offers a groovy, dynamic and powerful experience through sound. They previously performed at Burning Man on major stages such as Robot Heart, Mayan Warrior and Playa Alchemist; major international festivals such as DGTL, Day Zero, Fusion, SXM, Caprices, Les Plages Electroniques, Afrikaburn, Rituel Festival and Wonderfruit to name a few.
