Tune in for an exclusive interview with Montreal-based Hip-Hop producer, director, and emcee Cotola, a central figure in the Montreal underground scene for over 15 years. Known for pioneering the cinematic “Narco Bolero” sound, Cotola blends gritty boom bap drums with soulful Latin Bolero samples to create a dark, textured style all his own.
He has produced acclaimed projects including Chung Shui and Chung Shui II with Chung, the Dust 2 Dust series with M.A.V., and the 2025 releases Blood Moon Prophecy with Clan Supreme and Nimrod with Obia Le Chef. Cotola is also the band leader of Agua Negra, a trilingual Hip-Hop group bridging Latin and underground rap culture.
Beyond music, he directs and edits cinematic visuals through Paka The Plug, creating gritty music videos for artists across the scene.
