CHONK 🦨 😍
Chonk is a striped skunk. He was rescued in May of 2021 after his mother was hit by a car and he came to the @VirginiaZoo in February of 2022 to be a part of our Animal Ambassador program. He is curious, intelligent, and loves to train with is keepers.
FUN FACT: When you are driving down the road and smell a skunk, it is most likely a fox, who has the same scent. Skunks will only spray as their last defensive action because once they do, they must wait about 10 days for their scent glands to fill back up with that spray. #ZooBuddies #CollabElation #SunSqueezed
