Killing Grounds: The Gilgo Beach Murders - out now on Amazon prime. “First we cry, then we fight” - Gloria Allred It was a privilege to work on this series at its inception, visiting Long Island you felt the presence of absence… filming early interviews in Jan 2024, snow on the beaches of Long Island felt surreal and eerie. This is a harrowing case that has stuck with me since we first started researching it over three years ago, the lives of so many women, their family and friends, turned upside down at the hands of a serial killer. Pain prolonged by a corrupt system that failed them. Huge credit to the brilliant team who have crafted such a compelling, narratively rich series, one that never lets the women be forgotten. Their stories are what we will remember. Director - Emma Cooper @coopsemma Exec - Eben Davidson @ebbso13 Senior Producer - Elle Mower @ellemower Line Producer - Miranda Soto Dev Producer - Eloise Vanstone Researcher - Katie Brown @katie_bro.wn Archive Producer - Kate Gangway @katesang &many many more…

Last year, my wonderful friends @oliviapwilkes and @rohinacp created @sensorial.collective . Their first night was a joyous explosion on the dance floor… a celebration of queer joy, resistance and community. We made a film to screen on the night that spoke to the heart of Sensorial: partying is political, dancing is defiance. Alongside the powerful words by @lukeydannytomtom , I wove together archive from queer history - protests, celebrations, and communities from around the globe - to remind us that without the bravery and fight of those before us, the spaces we now hold so closely simply wouldn’t exist. Watching a room full of dancing queers fall silent to watch the film was overwhelming, tears in eyes, arms around friends and chosen family. A girl in the loo saying, “that film made me want to be a better queer.” It’s a film I’ll always be proud of, and I’ll be endlessly proud of Liv & Roh for orchestrating such a magnificent and special event. This is a snippet from the screening on the night, the reel I made afterwards, and some shots from filming and the night itself.
Can’t wait for the next one…. 🫶 Directed & Produced @sensorial.collective Editor & Archive Producer @el.vanstone.docs Words @lukeydannytomtom Colour @alexo.colour Performed by @jessbrough , Jay Lafayette Valentine, Chloe Filani, Tahiti’s Adames Music Ben Crxss Credits @stealthyjon Mix by JJ Mitchell Locations @solomongolding Stills by @imogens.jpgs
