I’m learning to redefine what birthdays mean for me as a grown-up. I’ve never really wanted much—probably because I already feel like I’ve got everything I need. A growing career, a beautiful wife and family….a fine wife. People ask, “So what you doing? How you celebrating?” And truthfully, I think birthdays are the one day you get a free pass to not put everybody else first.
Showing up for myself has been one of the most powerful, emotional, and let’s be real—challenging—lessons I’ve learned at 32. But it’s also been the most rewarding. Because when I do, I get to bring the best version of me into every room, every relationship.
And honestly? It doesn’t matter who showed up or who didn’t.
It’s MY birthday.
Just me vs. me—and I’m good with that.
Y’all be blessed and take care of you, too.
Putting my pride aside for the sake of the music! As a vocal producer, I’ll do whatever it takes to pull the best out of an artist—even if it means singing (badly) to get the idea across.
To all artists: The studio is your playground. Try everything, fail fast, and push past your limits. The mistakes you make in here lead to the breakthroughs out there. Keep creating, keep experimenting, and keep leveling up!

The woman I’ve been blessed to build and do life with.
I’ve had the privilege of seeing over a decade of birthdays with you, and watching you through all the different seasons of life has been nothing short of amazing. From childbirth to the different ways you’ve continued to grow and reinvent yourself, the Bri I look at today is grace, love, and peace all wrapped into one.
I’m lucky to witness it, and even luckier to walk beside you through it all.

Most days, being locked in looks a lot less glamorous than people probably imagine.
It’s me at home, laptop open, a great record spinning, random museum visuals on the TV, and a quiet kind of focus that helps me get a lot done.
Lately, that’s become one of the reasons I’ve loved editing photo and visual work so much. I don’t have to live in my ears the whole time. I can just sit with the visuals, the music, and the moment.
Busy, but peaceful. Productive, but still soft.
This little sanctuary has been carrying a lot of the work.
Also, side note: having “Untitled (How Does It Feel)” that deep in the Voodoo tracklist is actually insane.
Life update.
I’ve been the most present I think I’ve ever been.
The most hurt I’ve ever been.
The most proud I’ve ever been.
The most challenged I’ve ever been.
And it’s only January, smh.
I think I stopped trying to “balance” the work, the family, the legacy, the craft, and the rest…
and traded it for honesty.
Being honest about how I feel when I feel it.
Honest about when I need rest, when I need quiet, when I need to be still.
I don’t always like it, but I’m learning how to parent my inner child.
Because life is about choices and decisions.
And I can only control mine.
I suggest you do the same.
