Today, we’re spotlighting Eje as part of the 2025/2026 Obodo Artist Fund cohort ✨ Eje is a Nigerian interdisciplinary artist, cultural practitioner, and storyteller whose work moves across art, writing, archival practice, and community-rooted storytelling. With over fifteen years of experience, her practice explores history, spirituality, memory, identity, culture, and the natural world through deeply personal and communal lenses. As a Disabled, Black, Queer, Trans nonbinary artist, Eje’s work exists within the liminal spaces where memory meets myth, activism meets art, and storytelling becomes a tool for healing, resistance, and cultural reclamation. Through fluid, interdisciplinary practices, she creates counter-histories that challenge colonial narratives while centering care, harm reduction, beauty, and radical imagination. At the center of her work is a commitment to creating the kinds of worlds, stories, and possibilities she longs to see more of.
