Wow!!! It’s not every day you have a cat sit in on your jazz gig with a talking drum! Thanks to our brother GABINO from BENIN for joining us last night and killing it. We actually had a few guests including Wild Bill Davis on Alto Sax, @dylanlizza on Guitar, and a lovely young lady named KK visiting from LA on Vocals. The audience was amazing too! If you’re on the DC music scene, you’ve probably heard about @noochiemusic . We’ve crossed paths here and there over the years, but more recently I’ve been fortunate to get pulled into the Front Porch scene - having played on episodes with @chuckbrownfoundation and @soulsofmischief .This Friday, I have the honor of joining the Front Porch crew live on stage at @mgmnationalharbor with some *very* special guests. Shoutout to this squad for making the 3rd Annual SkaterMom Celebration such a great one. Was especially awesome to have @paul_bollenback - who mom knew since her teenage years. He is truly one of the most prolific guitarists in this music, and to add to that he really is the coolest cat too.Here’s what’s happening the rest of the month! Tonight! @jogoprojectofficial returns to Jazz at Met Park in Arlington for a free outdoor show 5-7pm. Then will be running to @mr.henrys.dc to play with @the_musselman 8-11!Tomorrow I’ll be back at @tinyvinylshop about 5-6:30pm, and late night I’ll be on the same block at @theunderlinedc bringing back the Speakeasy Jazz Jam!Chops haven’t gotten a break all week. Grateful to be working! But lips are feeling like rubber @leroy_armstead @gogouniversity @schagerlmusicgmbh @syosmusic @bostonsax

Today is @maryamlovesjazz heavenly bday. She would be (and should be) 65 today. She was a true renaissance woman. A jazz lover, a poet, a painter, a graphic artist, a web designer, a skateboarder, a mom, and a fearless fighter for civil and equal rights. She never stopped learning and growing - and that alone was a lesson in how to LIVE.I miss you and love you so much mama. I hope I’m making you proud. See you one day in paradise ️‍#skatermom
