I’ve never been good at giving myself the same amount of the love I give others. I always try to be the man I think people need me to be — to provide, protect, and love boldly. I think I get it from my mother and my father. This need to want to be “that guy” for everyone and everything. Yet, despite my best efforts, I often fall short.
tbh, I’m just a man trying to navigate the complexities of love and relationships, hoping to find solace in someone who sees that I haven’t poured enough into myself over these few years.
yes, things in my past still haunt me, replaying in my mind like a broken record — “did I not show enough love? did I fail to meet a need?”
That’s why I wrote and produced this song - as a reflection of those thoughts and a way to block out all memories. Instead, I’m redirecting that energy in my music, trying to smoke a little less, and trying to convince myself that someone sees that I’m doing the best I can with the resources I have, and they’ve accept that as enough.
