How to do a one-finger pull-up:
Step 1: Find a pull-up bar
Step 2: Only chalk up the finger you use (very important)
Step 3: Wrap finger on bar
Step 4: Deactivate pain receptor
Step 5: Hang
Step 6: Do a one-arm pull-up
Step 7: Reactivate pain receptor
