World Premiere! Here’s the trailer and a few stills of ‘Pergola’, our short film that will premiere this October at @affrfilmfestival in Rotterdam! Pergola, a film by @karim.ouri and @eileenamber and starring city poet Manu, is a reflection on @studio_inscape ‘s temporary pavilion Pergola for last year’s @rotterdamarchitectuurmaand , and the relation between citizens and green urban spaces. There will be 2 screenings: 🍿Friday 10 Oct. at 15:00 : Pergola will be previewed as part of the talkshow ‘Rotterdam Special: Stadontwikkeling vs. Citymarketing’ 🍿Saturday 11 Oct. at 12:00 : as part of ‘Shorts: At Home in Rotterdam’ premiering Pergola and screening 4 other short films. City poet Manu enters Pergola and begins to reflect on nature, care, and coexistence in the urban landscape. As he walks and writes, his attention shifts inward — a quiet search for where connection begins. Around him, we encounter a temporary architectural intervention, crafted to inspire care — garden tools at the ready and the living presence of the park’s many inhabitants. ‘Oosterschelde in Onderhandeling’ ~ In October with @studio_inscape we took part in a design competition of @parliamentofthings and won our case with this entry. 1 February we started developing the concept for a Dutch museum and knowledge centre as an interactive installation. I’m looking forward to share some of the progress soon!

Just back from a 3 week stay on the Caribbean island Sint Maarten for my studies. I already miss the friendly people and their habits, the whole island vibe and the energy of a country that is recovering after hurricane Irma left most of the built environment damaged 1,5 years ago. My graduation project will focus on a design proposal for shelter facilities (unfortunately Sint Maarten is prone to environmental hazards), but that combines a recreational and educational program to make the island community more resilient in general. I’ll be sharing some photos of the trip! And yes, I misused the fieldtrip a tiny bit to connect with the place people always ask me if I’m from (but I’m not). #caribbeangirl #wannabe #sxm #sintmaarten
