It was an absolute honor to be a part of @themeowingbird and @natasianart ās collaborative project for the summer solstice. CUT FRUIT was a beautiful performance paying homage to the integral and intimate role the act plays in our POC/immigrant families. Hearing every participantsā story of how fruit impacted so much of their lives, how it holds a visceral memory of their parents and relatives for them truly cemented how much of a cornerstone it is to our identity.
To go from picking up analog photography two years ago as a hobby to getting to be a part of this art series is something I never would have imagined. Iām so excited to share more photos from this series with you all!

āorangeā, mixed paper collage
recently made a pretty scary decision, and found myself with a lot of emotions that Iāve never really processed before. I havenāt been in touch with my creative side in a while - in an effort to process, I made a lot of collages. I found that the ease of finding pre-existing images made it a lot less intimidating to create. This is one of the many I made, using lyrics from @jbrekkie ās song āBe Sweetā. It holds a special place in my heart and was playing through my head non-stop for the last two weeks. Scraps from various home magazines, focusing on warm, vibrant fruit.

I cannot gush enough over the talented work of @tiemanh.motcauchuyen . If youāre looking for a stunning cinematic photoshoot, they are a must in Vietnam! Nam has such an amazing creative eye, and worked with me to make my Wong Kar-Wai dreams come true for the concept. Much love to the team for taking such good care of Jon and I.
