W a i t i n g . P a t i e n t l y . R e s c u e . The image shows the animals huddled together on a small island rising out of the river’s masses of water. No shore in sight. With our voyeuristic gaze, we look upon the catastrophe. We see them, and they see us. We observe one another. Yet we remain persistent as the desperation grows. EIGEN + ART Lab „Yet the pictorial action shifts into other realms: although ferns or candles may ward off the demonic from Rintsch’s visual worlds, it finds even more entry into Schubert’s nebulous pencil cosmos. Last week we opened the duo exhibition „Gramarye“ by Pauline Rintsch and Marie Schubert. @paulinerintsch @mary_ssshh „Marie Schubert and Pauline Rintsch thus play with the (apparent) laws of mysticism and luxury. They are collectors of moments, capturing their surroundings with sensitivity to the culturally symbolic charge of objects, whose meanings they appropriate, enchant and no less disenchant.“
