Exploding Heart Technique is an electronic music duo of Even Sigurdsen Røstad and Aksel Løseth Waade. The duo creates electronic club music infused with elements of industrial funk, jazz, and psychedelic film scores. The music can be described as collage-like and tactile, where heavy industrial beats converge with strings, traffic, and various field recordings. A complex sound design plays a central role in the storytelling, with playful associations being an essential element.
EHT released their debut EP in February 2025, followed by two music videos. The EP consists of six tracks, each representing an individual journey, while contributing to the overall concept. Even and Aksel do not create music together in a traditional sense, but work individually on their compositions. However, they publish under the same project and within shared frameworks for music creation, ensuring a cohesive listening experience.
EHT will live remix the EP at Trollkauk. The duo disassembles and recycles the sound material from all the tracks into something fresh, in real-time with improvisation, while preserving its DNA. In this case, the EP is transformed into club music, leaning towards techno 💘

The electronic music duo Exploding Heart Technique (EHT), consisting of Even Sigurdsen Røstad and Aksel Løseth Waade, operates at the intersection of club music, jazz, and science fiction. Their music is an explosive fusion of sound effects, harmonic fragments, and driving rhythms, created to explore both the intricate and the danceable. The absence of vocals invites the listener to form their own internal images, granting the music a narrative freedom.

On the occasion of the duo’s debut EP the music video for their first single, Gilo, is presented as part of this art exhibition. The video, created by Erlend Evensen, is displayed on an old monitor, adding a tactile, analog dimension to EHT’s otherwise futuristic soundscape. The stop-motion technique gives the film a fragmented and «handmade» aesthetic, while the psychedelic visual style enhances the music’s moods and associative power. Exploding Heart Technique does not collaborate on music in the traditional sense. Even and Aksel create their compositions individually before merging them into a shared sonic universe. This working method results in an EP where six unique tracks represent their own journey, while made from the same artistic vain. The three tracks, “Gilo,” “Kasse,” and “Skred,” are already released and available for streaming on digital platforms. The EP is set for release on February 28, with a video premiere on March 28.
