Still life on vintage book paper, trying out a new-to-me technique of wax-resist using an old candle. Essentially blind drawing at the start but makes for an exciting process and lovely results. Working so much on location, I can feel a bit lost with my ‘studio’ work, so it’s nice to experiment a bit with new processes. #stilllife #waxresist #ink #inkdrawing #artist
Starting to feel summery in London recently. The city really comes into its’ own in the sun. Had a lovely time chatting to John and his wife on Broadway Market after capturing them having a coffee (second slide). He was also drawing in his sketchbook and it was great talking to them about art and the importance of keeping up the practice! #drawing #illustration #sketchbook #walktosee #urbansketchers
Quick wonky little self portrait to test a new camera set up. I recon it works just fine. Ps went to see @powerplantxx last night in Hackney - incredible. #illustration #drawing #sketchbook #selfportrait #illustree
Collage made for a birthday card for @ftwentytwo last week. Always nice to experiment a little further with pieces made for other people. #collage #contemporarycollagemagazine #contemporarycollage #collageartist #collageart
3 studies from yesterday of a plant in our flat. I have drawn this plant a number of times over the last few years and it’s nice to see it grow and change. #sketchbook #illustration #illustree #drawing #drawingfromlife
Some spreads from the last 30 days. Nearly at the end of the first sketchbook of the year. Bit slower on this one but getting there. Always looking, always thinking (ps. I didn't go and see Craig David, he's really not my bag) #sketchbook #observationaldrawing #drawing #reportageillustration #illustration
391 drawings, each 60 second studies from the website Line of Action. That’s 6.5 hours of drawing. There’s definitely some progression throughout the book, and I definitely enjoyed them more the more I made. Might post some scans of my favourite pages soon. #drawing #figuredrawing #lineofaction #sketchbook #sketchbooktour
