Back in February, myself and other fashion talents of the area were recruited to help develop new curriculum for El Paso Community Collegeās Fashion Tech program. It was an amazing experience and saw a lot of familiar faces!
Todayās post is a grooms cape. Made using polyester faille and bridal lining (which feels just like modal iykyk).
But anyways, a separate cloak clasp will be purchased by the groom to accompany his cape. Looks great in movement, and congrats to the happy couple. š„³š„³ #sewing #sewersofinstagram #cape
Sharing finished projects as per usual.
This week I did some slight alterations to a quinceaƱera dress and added a bow to the back. I also had to make a replica dress for her doll.
The doll (like the dress) has a bow on the back, and removable cape.

I can finally share some photos of a project that I worked on a few years ago. It was the first time I ever had to pull from a costume rental house. Many times before that I shopped or made the costumes myself.
It was a collaborative effort between the producers, director, and myself. As many times before, Iām blown away by the local talent that birthed the idea of their respective films.
Some clothes & accessories were pulled from Southwest Costume Rentals in ABQ. I made some of the bottoms for our main actors, and improvised on set draping for our metaphysical witch/spirit character.
So much Schmere was used in the production of this film, everyone had to look at bare minimum dusty at all times to full blown muddy.
I am currently available for your costume needs servicing the southwest quadrant of the United States. Stylist, costume designer, stitcher, emotional support assistant etc.
Goodbye 2025
This was a year of so much traveling, so many new life events and changes. Watched a private screening of a movie I worked on in 2024, saw Deftones in Vegas. My son went off the Naval academy, graduated, married his HS sweetheart. I worked a few jobs this year.
Visited
1. Chicago

7. Los Angeles
Some incredible projects that I canāt wait to see: Soft Cargo and La Chinagda.
Saw my name in the credits of a Warner Brothers movie, then helped my son move across the country. Itās been a crazy crazy year. I hope you all have a safe and happy new year!

Today I rejoice because Iām finally done with this quilt. It took me longer than I ever expected. But itās done.
I was given 69 Crown Royal bags, in various colors and bag materials. I backed it with purple cotton, and recycled the bag drawstrings to make little joining stitches all over. Just in time for Christmas! Hallelujah!! ššššššš #quiltsofinstagram #crownroyal #sewistsofinstagram #recycle #reuse
Made this dress for a client right before I left to visit a relative on the east coast for Thanksgiving. I used a velvet burnout print, lined with a modal type fabric. All bought from Etsy sellers online. #costumes #sewistsofinstagram #sewing

Day 29: How Your E-mail Found Me
Hackers
Was this pick for today totally predictable? Yes.
As the cover blurb says āThe best cyber film of the year!ā-Randall Blaum KATU-tv
As far as being a fantastical way to show hacking in the mid 90s, itās also a gluttonous, fashionable show of designer clothes to rush in the upcoming Y2K. Vivienne Westwood, nods to Galliano, streetwear, Japanese fashion. I swear I see some fruits, lots of other Harajuku inspired designs. This is such an amazing movie beyond its plot.
Also I can remember using the internet in the mid 90s, trying to download a photo on a 14.4K modem was torture. By the time we got a new computer and it went up to 56k I thought it was the fastest thing ever ššš
