These memories I will hold forever. A rough day as I celebrated 66 years on this earth and Mothers Day. Bitter sweet moments on this last day in a place I called home for 65 years. Not many people spend a life time in the the same home. My parents each lived in 3 homes. The first was their childhood home. The second when they got married and the third was the place I called home till I moved into my own. They built a home and life their for 65 years. Tomorrow we begin the process of the estate sale as we prepare the home to be sold. As I spent the day finishing taking out all the personal items a flood of memories filled my thoughts. I sat for hours in her rocking chair just swaying back and forth. I could smell the food they cooked, hear the music played and the stories told. As I sat with my daughter sharing memories I realized how blessed I was to have a home filled with love, culture, family. They loved and accepted me unconditionally and the same for my husband. He was their son. They loved their granddaughter beyond words. On this Mothers Day as the sadness and grief filled my spirit there was something peaceful about finishing up the home. It mostly stuff that served and brought great joy to us. It’s now time to let others find purpose for it. So Thank You mom and dad for this incredible life you shared. The memories of this home will be remembered by many. It’s time now to let go and begin a new chapter.
