A few years later, countless laughs, lots of tears, and endless memories later, we’ve finally graduated!🥹🎓✨
From just being normal friends to getting close and even becoming people’s friendship goals. The cram sessions, confusion in class, dinner parties, overnights, gists, wedding dance rehearsals(iykyk😂), heartbreaks and heart-to-heart talks, we’ve shared it all. Through every up and down, we’ve been one another’s rock, and our friendship has only grown stronger. As we step into this new chapter, I’m beyond grateful for the memories we’ve made and the adventures that lie ahead.

“As for the Lord, in His time, He will make everything beautiful.” (Isaiah 60:22) Today, I stand here with a heart full of gratitude and relief. Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English from the Department of English, University of Lagos, has been a journey that tested me in ways I never imagined. What was meant to be four years became six, six years of lessons far beyond lecture halls and textbooks. Six years of waiting, hoping, doubting, praying, falling, and getting back up again.
There were seasons of sickness when my body felt like it was working against me. Days of deep frustration when it seemed like everyone else was moving forward while I was stuck in one place. Moments when giving up felt easier than holding on. Moments when I questioned myself, my strength, and even my purpose. But somehow, through it all, I kept going, sometimes boldly, sometimes barely, but always moving.
This journey taught me patience when I wanted speed, resilience when I felt weak, and faith when certainty was nowhere to be found. It taught me that progress is not always loud or fast, and that survival itself is a form of victory. Every delay carried a lesson. Every setback shaped me. Every tear watered the ground for this moment. I am deeply grateful to God for carrying me when I couldn’t carry myself, to everyone who supported me in seen and unseen ways, and to myself for not giving up.
So yes, it took six years. Yes, it was hard. But today, I am standing, healed, hopeful, and proud. B.A. English secured. 🎓✨
