ALLEGORY I balances linear precision with playfulness in an Art Deco-inspired composition. Geometric bands diverge and reconnect across the surface, while raised pile flecked with multiple tones of dull silk introduce subtle luminosity and sculptural dimension. Fields of orange and brick recall the archival 1979 design from which the carpet is derived, reinterpreted with accents of of blush, slate, and soft neutrals for contemporary interiors. #EFCarpetMakers #OnTheFringe

TWILIGHT HAZE explores dreamlike movement through subtle sparkle and cascading fringe. Painterly vertical lines descend through the composition before looping upward again, creating a striking tension between suspension and continuity. TWILIGHT HAZE is part of the On-The-Fringe Edition, a series of archival designs reimagined for modern living through an Art Deco lens. #EdwardFields #EFCarpetMakers #OnTheFringe

What happens when archival carpets get reimagined? Recently presented in Paris, the On-The-Fringe Edition revisits historic Edward Fields designs through the experimental possibilities of today. Derived from archival sketches and watercolors featuring abstract geometry, symmetry, and graphic confidence, the collection introduces hanging fringe and unexpected dimensionality to bring movement and rhythm into interiors. Fields of chromatic color feel both contemporary and reminiscent of the glamour and spirit of the Art Deco era. #EdwardFields #EFCarpetMakers #OnTheFringe

Even the floor tells a story. At the Miller House, custom carpets designed with Alexander Girard carry the story of the home from room to room—bringing the conversation pit to life. In the study, motifs drawn from the family's history are set within a hexagonal pattern. More than decorative, the carpets are integral to the architecture itself. 📸 Courtesy of the National Library of Congress Prints & Photographs Division, Balthazar Korab Collection #EdwardFields #EFCarpetMakers

In postwar America, wall-to-wall carpeting dominated the home. Then Edward Fields and Raymond Loewy helped reimagine what could happen underfoot. Originally released in 1952, five designs by Loewy introduced a playful new visual language to the floor. Organic shapes, swirling lines, and celestial motifs transformed carpets into works of modern art. An instant hit at Lord & Taylor, the collection helped establish the decorative area rug as a staple of the American interior.

An Ode To Art Deco — Tai Ping's Paris showroom welcomed guests to a live concert on a PH Piano, recreated from a 1930s archival design by Danish architect Poul Henningsen. Geometric forms, symmetry, and luxurious finishes — from the piano's metallic lid to the hand-tufted wool and silk of the carpets — effortlessly transport guests into the glamour of the Art Deco era. The piano is presented alongside pieces from Edward Fields' On-The-Fringe Edition, now on display in Paris for the first time. #TaiPingCarpets #EFCarpetMakers #OnTheFringe

RAYMOND LOEWY — The Paris-born man who designed America. Few visionaries shaped the 20th century like Raymond Loewy, creator of the Lucky Strike package, the redesigned Greyhound bus and U.S. Postal Service logo. In 1952, Edward Fields commissioned him to create five rugs for Lord & Taylor—an early collaboration that influenced the future of both the company and modern interiors. Defined by organic forms and celestial motifs, the collection became one of Edward Fields’ most enduring. Swipe to see the legacy across time—from the iconic Kaufmann House in Palm Springs to contemporary interiors. #EdwardFields #EFCarpetMakers #RaymondLoewy

From Côte d'Azur to the high seas — For nearly a century, Marion Dorn's designs have captured the imagination and embodied a spirit of worldly sophistication. MISTRAL I recalls delicate marble veining and the elegant stonework of Côte d'Azur villas in the 1920s. PALACE PARQUET draws from the geometric patterns of parquet floors. EMBASSY COURT, reintroduced in 2015 for the Yacht Collection, evokes the glamour and adventure of life at sea. #EdwardFields #EFCarpetMakers #MarionDorn
