« Le ridicule ne tue pas, bien au contraire. Hilary Galbreaith emploie le burlesque et l’amateurisme comme des armes critiques et politiques. L’artiste s’inscrit dans un héritage artistique où l’underground expérimental s’hybride avec les cultures punk, féministes et queers. Ses œuvres protéiformes, à la croisée de l’installation, de la peinture, de l’écriture ou encore du son, manifestent une pensée liminale, fluide, volontairement trouble et nécessairement non binaire. Il s’agit alors pour l’artiste de démonter les systèmes de pouvoir - les uns après les autres. Conscient.e de l’imbrication de ces arcanes (racisme, sexisme, classicisme, colonialisme, capitalisme, hétéronormativité, fascismes, nécropolitiques, patriarcat, etc.), Hilary Galbreaith visibilise les mécanismes et les rouages de ces machines idéologiques de manière joyeuse et intersectionnelle. »

This took me so much longer than I thought it would. I erased and re drew all the writing in each frame three times. Memories of January and setting multiple phone alarms in six hour intervals to take a Dafalgan before the pain could set in again
One of the things that makes me the happiest is seeing flowers growing out of cracks in the sidewalk. They let it all hang out, totally punk in their gaudy, no fucks to give expression on the grey concrete. Now I'm learning to walk again after my broken ankle and this dandelion inspired me to get outside and walk weirdly.
