Ok… it took me a moment to fully take in what happened on March 26th 💫
So let me put into words what that night meant to me at El Barrio’s Artspace… 😮💨
Creating in the space I call home is deeply personal, and being able to bring this vision to life alongside my partner @marlynortiz was truly special. What started as an idea became something real through collaboration, trust, and a shared commitment to the work. 10+ years ago!!!!
This was never a solo effort. It took a team, and I’m incredibly proud of what we created together. At the same time, I stand firmly in the vision and energy I’ve poured into building something meaningful in a place that means so much to me.
Thank you to everyone who showed up, contributed, and believed in what I saw from the beginning. This is what community and creation at home looks like. 💫

Last night, the ladies of Bon Bon Burlesque brought the house down at El Barrio Artspace.
From Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy from Company B to the dark, electric vibes of Nine Inch Nails, the performers delivered a show that hit every burlesque fantasy you could imagine. Classic, edgy, and unforgettable.
A special thank you to my bestie @eeh83 for curating such an incredible night and to my ladies @marlynortiz@lolavonrox and @zitathorn for giving us everything and leaving us wanting more.

EMMANUEL HERNANDEZ 🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻🇵🇷
Emmanuel, of Puerto Rican descent, grew up in Spanish Harlem/El Barrio, where he began his
artistic journey as a dancer. He earned a scholarship to the Repertory Dance Company’s
intensive program, honing his skills.
He has toured and performed with artists like Ariana Grande, JoJo, Danity Kane, Prince Royce,
La India, and ThalÃa. His stage credits include Wayne Brady’s Making It Up in Las Vegas, and
he has appeared on Saturday Night Live and Glee.
Recently, Emmanuel served as Movement Director for John Leguizamo’s Tony-winning ‘Latin
History for Morons’ on Broadway and Netflix, choreographed ‘Ghetto Klown’ for HBO, and is
currently working on Leguizamo’s ‘The Other Americans’. He also performed in Lin-Manuel
Miranda’s ‘In The Heights’ with Dallas Theater Center.
Marking a milestone, Emmanuel made his directorial debut with Judy Torres’ ‘No Reason to
Cry’ at the Puerto Rican Traveling Theater. Inspired by his collaborations with Leguizamo and
Torres, he studied Technical Theater at SEA Teatro. Now, he continues expanding his work as a
director and movement director in film and theater.

Sometimes the answers to your prayers is “NO.” And that’s okay! Because the universe (and everything I believe in) doesn’t play about me. Do I have regrets? No. Am I bummed? Absolutely. But it showed me I STILL GOT IT and showed me exactly what I need to work on, where I stand in this industry, and why staying ready matters.
