Got a really nice ham for a steal at the grocery store after Easter, and just made a shitload of ham and cheese lunches for the community fridge. Just letting you know, I’m still doing the do, every week. Haven’t missed a week since I started and if I did miss a week, it bummed me out. Just making it a part of my life. Ma was here to help out last week, and Liz is getting in on it too. Doing a massive lentil soup with the hambone. I will bag that up as well. Ok, what can I sell you this week….ah yes..at Triumph Brewing company in Redbank NJ with @jamiemcleanband Junko Partners, this coming Saturday. Come though!
Man, I sure have known Ben a long time now. One of the first cats I met and played with at Berklee. I was fresh out of high school and I think like a lot of the “foreign” students, Ben had already done some advanced training. Anyway, he already sounded like a grown man, and I’ve been chasing him ever since. Come see me try and keep up.
Friends, for those of you that bought tickets, I am truly appreciative. I don’t often do ticketed shows because I play so much for free out there in the wild, it can be hard to move folks. But you guys showed up for yer boi, and I won’t soon forget it. There are exactly 5 seats left, 2 at the bar and 3 in the wing. Link for tickets in bio on insta and first comment on FB. This post was inspired by someone who had lined up modern (lunchables) on the go lunches for school kids in the community fridge. I decided I would do a brown bag version from my youth to show how a player born in 1973 might have rolled as a youngster.
We are in the window at the historic @thebitterendnyc , holy shit. I live a charmed life cuz I get to play with this crew, these monsters, this music. You live one to if you are able to come and do. I play most nights without bothering you too much about it. But it’s wild to me that you wouldn’t see @jdouglasfoote name on this poster and not wonder what kind of soul she might bring to this material. Folks, Jenny is the kind of musician that makes musicians better, because of her joy, her knowledge, and her heart. I can’t say anything better about a person, and working with Jenny has always reminded me about the ways in which I can be a better side man, especially, but also when I’m not the boss.more on her later. I could talk for a year. Google everyone on that flyer and shit your pants that it’s only $25 bucks. Good lord you have paid so much more for less, just today. Get them tickets, just to shut me up. @mavisstaples will you come please? A lot of singing and playing someone’s care to worship and celebrate you!
If this isn’t among the greatest sandwiches in the world it certainly is the most underrated. Folks, I give you the cheeseburger club sandwich. Like a turkey club, but with a cheeseburger where the turkey would be. I have wasted a lot of life trying to explain this to diner wait staffs across this great nation, with little success. I first discovered it at a college hang out in Boston called ‘the pour house” on boylston street. They called it the “California Club” which is ironic because I am from California and to this day never have seen or eaten one there. It can be hard to find, and so every once and awhile I get motivated and fix me one. Kind of a pain in the ass, and you can’t skip an ingredient if you don’t have it. Illegal.
