A very first S-EEEMERGING residency completed for @schiavoni.ensemble ! 💪🎶
Our partner in Pavia 🇮🇹 @ghislierimusica hosted the croatian ensemble for their first learning residency, where they held two short charity performances for patients and staff at the Policlinico San Matteo, offering them a small break from the hospital routine. 🫂🫶
And they performed two concerts!
▪︎ A solo concert, “Dalla Schiavonia a Venezia”, in which they presented mostly secular 17th-century music written by both Italian composers, and also including several arrangements of their traditional croatian songs.
▪︎ A sacred music concert, “Ave maris stella / Hail, Star of the Sea”, in collaboration with the “Ghislieri Coro Universitario” under the direction of Maestro Luca Colombo. In this concert, they performed works by Jelić and Usper on our own, and together with the choir we performed Usper’s Missa secundi toni and several of his major motets.
We are excited to welcome them in other partner's institution, and thank @ghislierimusica for this great residency as always 🇪🇺💙

With both an historically informed approach and a curiosity about rarely performed repertoire, @ogni_sorte_di_strumenti seeks to experiment with the different timbres of early wind instruments, particularly recorders, sackbuts and dulcians, occasionally accompanied by an organ.
We are proud to be supporting them this year! 💙

🎶 In March, the @ccrambronay (🇫🇷) welcomed two EEEMERGING ensembles in residency: @theministersofpastime[email protected]!
Between artistic work, sound exploration, and recording, they were able to create their first album with Ambronay Éditions, in an environment designed to support ensembles through the key stages of their development.
The highlight of this March was the musical event with Coloquio 6, which gave the audience a behind-the-scenes look at a recording session and a chance to discover the artists’ work from a new perspective! 💿
A big thank you to the ensembles 🇪🇺🎶
Two more ensembles from our support programme for emerging groups, Eeemerging, will join us later this year: @ogni_sorte_di_strumenti and @l_aura_pizzicata . A great way to continue fostering exchange, transmission, and connection with audiences!
Something new and exciting is happening at EEEMERGING, we are now meeting in person all around Europe!
As @tempera_mente_music launched this wonderful idea earlier in Amsterdam (second slide as a proof 🙈), we decided to take advantage of @cohaereensemble 's venue in @trinitelyon (Lyon, France 🇫🇷) to invite former and current @eeemerging artists (whether you were supported by the programme or part of the Academy!) to meet before the concert.
👉 You are warmly invited to join us at 19:00 for a drink, together with Franck-Emmanuel Comte (artistic director of Le Concert de l’Hostel Dieu and La Trinité) and Pierre Bornachot (deputy director of the CCR d’Ambronay).
We also have access to a professional rate for you:
– 15€ (category 1)
– 12€ (category 2)
If you’d like to attend, please send a quick email to [email protected] so we can reserve seats!
See you all around Europe! 🇪🇺😉
Meet @fantastica.ensemble , from Poland and now supported by S-EEEMERGING! 💙🇵🇱
Together, Aleksandra Owczarek (violin) and Klaudia Loboda (harpsichord) create interpretations full of passion, expression, and unexpected contrasts, restoring the true intensity and emotional depth of centuries-old music.
As they say... "We seek sounds that move and surprise. Our concerts are encounters with early music and its profound depth, proving that Baroque remains relevant and continues to resonate across generations."
We are excited to support them in their career development! 🇪🇺

If you live around Amsterdam... You just got a message from @bjmcornelissen (@tempera_mente_music ) & @kristia.michael (@sibil.laensemble ) 💌
"Drinks! We thought it would be nice to meet more people from the (S-)EEEMerging network in person, and so are organizing informal drinks in Amsterdam, for whoever is around and wants to join! There is no agenda, no plan, just an opportunity to meet colleagues in the network over a drink:
Mon 9 March 2026, from around 17.00
Cafe Waterlooplein, Rapenburgerstraat 169,
Amsterdam, The Netherlands
(very close to metro station Waterlooplein)
Great if you could let us know in advance if you're coming, so we might consider booking the Concertgebouw if too many people are joining :-)
Best,
Bas & Kristia"
If you are interested in joining them next week, please contact @bjmcornelissen :)

🎶 Meet @segretiarmonici ! 🎶
The ensemble, selected to be supported by our programme in 2026, is devoted to Renaissance and Baroque repertoire on period instruments, with a particular focus on the Italian tradition between the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries 💙
Combining scholarly rigor with expressive sensitivity, the ensemble places at the heart of its work the rediscovery of lesser-known vocal and instrumental works alongside celebrated masterpieces!
The ensemble features @naoko_tanigaki (soprano), @ilariascarponimezzo (mezzo-soprano), @niccoloroda.basso (bass), @cellocansss (cello & viola da gamba), and @michele.barbieri.cembalo (direction, organ & harpsichord).

🎉 S-EEEMERGING welcomes @ensemble_bastion 💙
Specialising in repertoire from the late 16th to the mid-18th century, the ensemble’s name honours the influential theorist Sebastian Virdung, who referred to himself as “Bastian.”
His 1511 treatise Musica getutscht inspired both their identity and their instrumental palette: recorder, viola da gamba, lute, and early keyboard instruments. 🎶
The musicians Maruša Brezavšček, Martin Jantzen, Mélanie Flores, and Elias Conrad are laureates of major international competitions and graduates of the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis! We are thrilled that they are joining the S-EEEmerging programme in 2026.

We were at the @rema.eemn conference in Malta! 🇲🇹 On 20–22 January 2026, REMA held its first conference of the year in the historic city of Valletta, at the invitation of @festivals.mt / @vallettabaroquefestival
Nearly a hundred organisations from across the sector gathered for three inspiring days of collaboration, exchange, and artistic discovery.
We reviewed the past year and explored the outlook for 2026, alongside fascinating conferences on Malta’s musical heritage. The programme also featured thematic workshops on the sustainable transition of the music sector, project presentations from network members, and guided tours offering a deeper insight into Malta’s rich cultural heritage.
The S-EEEMERGING Ensembles @nocturnaliaensemble , @Coloquio6 and @SegretiArmonici were also present at the event, as some of their members are part of the REMArkable 2026 , REMA's mentoring scheme. 💙🇪🇺
The conference was also the opportunity to announce the S-EEE new study on mid-career artists, just started now, led by Fanny Bouquerel, in partnership with Charlotte Bohl and researchers of the @uc_journalismcommunication . The topic had a strong resonance in the audience and a first questionnaire will be shared in the coming weeks.
Thank you for an inspiring week with our early music colleagues!
