So moved and honored to be inducted into the Advertising Hall of Fame. A lifetime achievement recognition for impact in our industry, voted on by peers. Check out my reflections to the industry. In 75 years, fewer than 300 people have been inducted. I am the 6th Black woman: Cathy Hughes. Carol H. Williams. Debra Lee. Renetta McCann. Jerri DeVard… and me 😊 Honored to be among this extraordinary group of leaders. Even more committed to opening the door for many more. 🎥 Credit: Interface Media

Guess what? I’m honored to share that I’ve been inducted into the Advertising Hall of Fame. A lifetime achievement recognition for impact in our industry, voted on by peers. Special thank you to my daughter, Anura, who flew in on a red-eye from California to introduce me. And to my friends, family, and colleagues who showed up with so much love and support. So what does it take to create lasting impact? To drive business and personal growth? C-O-U-R-A-G-E Saying yes in the face of discomfort. Moving forward even when fear shows up. Because fear is often a signal that growth is near. Seeing possibility where others see obstacles. From Febreze… to reimagining COVERGIRL… to the CROWN Act movement… to transforming how Unilever shows up in the world… Each required the courage to do more than sell. To solve. To step into the unknown. 35 years in. Still growing. Grateful for the growth. Grateful for the impact. Grateful for the courage. 📸 credit: @madworksphoto

My baby girl ♥️ So proud. Love her spirit, her style and her drive. Her crystal clarity of who she is and what she wants at such a young age is inspiring. She ended high school with a bang 💥 receiving 7 awards: • Faculty Prize for General Excellence • Head of School Athletic Achievement • Latin Department Prize • Literacy Prize • Alumni Award for Cross Country, Indoor Track, and Outdoor Track To top it off, her classmates voted as Best Dressed (my personal fave 😉) #proudmomma

Overflowing with Gratitude from the Jack and Jill Metropolitan Chapter Gala ✨ This past weekend was truly unforgettable. Standing in a room filled with powerful, brilliant, history-making women and receiving this honor from the mighty Metropolitan Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. was deeply humbling. Margaret S. Green took one action 85 years ago and we are still here—still building, still pouring into our children, and still shaping the future. What a legacy! I am beyond grateful for this recognition, for this sisterhood, and for this community of excellence that uplifts and reminds us and our children of our collective power. Thank you, Mighty Metro, for building a legacy that will last for generations. Let’s keep moving forward—together. Special thank you to Gala Chairs @erikalyles , @malaakcomptonrock @michelebrazil and chapter President @danareed 🙏🏽 for the highest standard of event excellence and fundraising for our Boost Scholars 💙💗💙 #JJMetro #JackAndJillMoms #Legacy #KeepItMoving #HerStory #Gratitude #BlackHistory #WomensHistory✨

What a phenomenal evening we had last night joining the @jackandjillmetro in celebrating 85 years of remarkable impact: Honoring our past, inspiring our future. The venue, @casaciprianinyc was stunning and the room was filled with black excellence. We were honored to see our Soror and Dartmouth sister, @eebracey , Chief Growth and Marketing Officer, Unilever, receive The Margaret Green Exceptional Mother Member Award! She is highly deserving of all the accolades she receives, being an exceptional business leader, amazing mother, and loyal friend, as well as a fearless truth-teller. Congratulations to the other honorees: @leslie_alicewims , CEO of Chase Auto, Dr. @dr.yusefsalaam , NYC Councilman, Exonerated 5, @nikkistokes_ ,Chief of Staff, Ariel Alternatives. I cherished spending time with my Dartmouth sorors @tcrossley1 and Pamela Wheeler Streeter. Long live @jackandjillinc

It’s been a while since I’ve posted. So much going on in life and in the world. But couldn’t let more time go by without honoring Black History Month. Two reflections for Black History Month 2025: The Fruit Is in the Roots 🌿 Being the ONLY (in the room) DOES NOT have to  be LONEY How many of you have walked into rooms where you were the one and only. The only Black person. The only woman. The only one with textured hair? The only American? The only one with your point of view or perspective? The only one that saw opportunity when others saw risks? I certainly have — actually since I left home for college over 30 years ago. And then again when I chose a career in corporate America. But here’s the thing: being the ‘only’ in a room, doesn’t have to be lonely. There is a village. There is a legacy. There are deep, unshakable roots that bear fruit. We have opportunity because those before us planted, watered, and nurtured the seeds. Taking inspiration from the stories of those who pioneered before us, and staying connected to the other ‘onlies’ in their rooms creates community, and the visibility that we are in fact NOT ALONE! We are critical mass, a collective, of strength, purpose, possibility, and yes — power. This is what Black History Month represents for me — the opportunity to be reminded of this — we are not alone, and to pay it forward. This Black History Month, my focus is on watering the roots. Honoring the shoulders I stand on by being intentional about whose hand I extend. What roots are you watering this month? Who helped you stand taller? Let’s honor them. Drop a name in the comments. Let’s build. 🌱

🌟 Honored and humbled to receive the Transformer of the Year Award at the inaugural dinner celebrating Black Women in Business at the 30th Anniversary of the ESSENCE Festival of Culture. 🌟 Like many of us, my parents instilled that ‘to whom much is given, much is expected.’ This has guided me through my career, reminding me always to help people make a difference. Early on, I thought success meant conforming to corporate norms that didn’t reflect who I was. But the moment I embraced my authenticity, my impact and career took off. Diversifying the face of beauty, bringing unfiltered magic into the corporate world, and championing representation have been some of my proudest achievements. I’d like to send a special shout out to all of my incredible fellow honorees…Thasunda Brown Duckett for CEO of the Year, Serena Williams for Investor of the Year, Marian Croak for Innovator of the Year, Laysha Ward for Community Investment Pioneer, and Ingrid Saunders Jones for Lifetime Achievement. Your achievements inspire and uplift us all. And to those who continue to break barriers and make a difference – this award is for you. Keep transforming the world with your unique brilliance. Thank you, Essence, for shining a light on our stories and providing a platform for our voices. Here’s to many more years of celebrating excellence! 🥂✨ Thank you to my friend and sister in beauty @andrealewis for capturing all the content and being my beautiful date for the event😘 #BlackWomenInBusiness #ESSENCEFest #Authenticity #Transformation #RepresentationMatters #CelebrateExcellence

Celebrating #CROWNDay with my son Benoit, who is proudly wearing his hair in locs! 🌟💫 I love that we are standing together, embracing our natural hair and its beautiful diversity. So excited to be celebrating 5 years since the first CROWN Act (Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair) was signed into law in California and the official start of the CROWN Act movement to end race-based hair discrimination and honor our natural hair. So proud of Dove for igniting this movement in 2018 and that it is now #thepeoplesmovement #crownlove On this special day, let’s continue to celebrate our collective impact when we embrace our identity and our natural hair and stand together to support the fight against race-based hair discrimination, pushing for societal change. We are paving the way for a more inclusive and respectful world for everyone.    #CROWNLove #CROWNAct #CROWNMovement  #Dove #CROWNCoalition #ImpactandLegacy

My sunshine Benoit has graduated from 8th grade at Allen-Stevenson School in NYC and is headed to Choate Rosemary Hall for high school. I could not be more proud. I still remember him brewing in my belly when we moved to Switzerland when I was three months pregnant. He has been my Swiss souvenir from the start. What a young man he has become. His yearbook quote from Miles Morales from the Spider-Verse movie says it all. He wrote: “Everyone keeps telling me how my story is supposed to go. Nah, imma do my own thing.” This perfectly captures his independent spirit and unwavering determination to chart his own course. His strong sense of self at such a young age truly inspires me. I’m so grateful to be his mommy and life coach. Love him to bits. 💖 Mommy 💋 #proudmama #mysunshine #smilehigh
