Hi. On today's episode, Katy, Cody, and Jonathan talk with @edzitron about Allbirds, Anthropic's Mythos, and other A.I. stories. After that they dig into JD Vance's fight with the Pope and Pete Hegseth sharing his favorite film quotes.

Finally got the print edition of my interview with FastCompany. Thank you to @technologizer for chatting to me and @ok__mccausland for the great shoot!
January was incredible. Better Offline hit over 1 million downloads in the month after the best CES ever. So many wonderful meals. So many wonderful friends and so much love. I am so lucky!
*elated* that my first publish of 2026 is my first (cover) shoot for @guardian (this week’s “life & arts”) featuring @edzitron - who discusses all things AI and, in particular, how the boom is doomed to bust. 💣
selfishly, i look forward to working with Robert Pattinson to create the key art imagery for Ed’s eventual biopic. 😝
also selfishly, i hope Ed’s next interview is about Nine Inch Nails and Queens of the Stone Age; dude’s got exceptional taste in music. 🤘🏽
many thanks to @sarahgilbertguardian for the call, Steve Rose for the words, and @lexshotya for the assist. online and in print, link in bio! 💥
I was honored to be called up for The @guardian ’s Big Interview this week. An incredible profile by Steve Rose and shoot with @maegangindi , and the honour of being on the front of an actual newspaper (the Life & Arts section specifically). I am not good at celebrating in general but I’m gonna let myself do it this time.
Everything - the show, the book, the profiles - came entirely from a free newsletter I did in my spare time. It’s incredible it has gone this far. I never expected it. Thank you to everyone who supported me and continues to do so.

2025 was probably the most important year of my life, professionally and personally, I entered it a little rickety and exited surrounded by love and success that I am working on letting myself celebrate better in 2026. I am very grateful for those close to me. I wrote 440,000 words and built the newsletter and podcast into something to be proud of. Here’s to a year that’s even more normal.
We don’t even know the most basic number behind the AI boom: how much it actually costs to run.
@edzitron explains why the moment AI companies go public — and are forced to open their books — could expose just how fragile the economics really are, with consequences far beyond Silicon Valley.
