“Hide for Watching Standing Stones” by @edwardsummerton RSA, 2023. Printed polycotton, midge net, tent loops, wooden frame. Hide for Watching Standing Stones offers the opportunity to witness the movement and migration of stones over deep time and dream time. The Hides’ cover, a print of the magical lichen rich standing stone of Glen Shee. The Glen’s name from the Gaelic word shith, signifying fairies. Where the ancient inhabitants were known as ‘The Elves of Glenshee! The Glen’s ancient meeting place dominated by the standing stone for over four thousand years. Still moving, still dreaming. But where do stones come from and how do they grow from tiny pebbles to immense boulders? From the Clyde to Sarajevo and the Venice Lagoon. @royal_scottish_academy RSA 200: Celebrating together. Open Wednesday to Sunday 12-5pm at The Wyllieum Image: 📷 Garth Ivan
