Last week, we made a film.
I invited a select few into my home to bring “home improvement” to the stage, and it became the most beautiful, freeing experience I’ve had as an artist to date. I’m endlessly grateful to everyone who showed up — it means the world that, after five years, you said yes. You sat with me as I laughed, cried, and told the truth of who I am now.
To Jasmine, my incredible friend and host — thank you for stepping in without hesitation. You understood what this night meant to me, and I am forever thankful. To James, my DJ; Joshua, our saxophonist; and Edward and his phenomenal Black male film crew — thank you. Your focus and passion helped lift me into my own creative pocket. To my mama and sister, who helped bring this vision to life, and to my fiancé, who hosted until the stars slept — I love you deeply.
Art is imagination — dreams, visions, bravery. For me, “home improvement” has been about stepping into a space where I feel safe and free. Now, this piece of work is ready for its wings. I can’t wait to share it with you all.

A love like no other. What a beautiful year it has been watching our son grow and experience the world. Forever grateful to God and our village of family & friends! 🎉🎈#YearOne
@missdsweets Thank you for your love and resilience. The days you committed to having a healthy pregnancy. The hours of pain in labor. Thank you for delivering our son. Happy first Mothers Day. Welcome to the world Blair Michael Worthy. It’s a little ghetto out here but we got you.
Year 36. Grateful for life. Grateful for failed expectations that feel like disappointment only to realize God has me further than I ever been. Grateful for @missdsweets and our bad dog. Grateful for family. Grateful for every September.
Thank you again @mvaaff for having my film #Rear in your prestigious festival. I met so many dope filmmakers and film lovers. A black time was had. Next up, #Rear screens at @dcblackfilmfest this Saturday in Washington DC at the @themiracledc
Honored and grateful to announce that my short film #Rear is headed to the Vineyard! We are screening at the Oscar Qualifying Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival next Saturday at 11am with some dope filmmakers. Thanks again @mvaaff for having us.
#Rear had a SOLD OUT screening at @lashortsfest last night. Thank you to all my family and friends who attended. I wouldn’t be here without my support team. Grateful for the opportunity to screen in front of a sold out audience who had nothing but great feedback after the screening. More big upcoming screening news coming shortly.
Rear won Best Screenplay for a Short Film this past weekend at the @wyomingfilmfest . Thank you so much for this honor. There were nearly 100 short films that played at the festival from all over the world including one that was nominated for an Oscar last year. Thank you again for not only nominating our film with the 4 other great films but also acknowledging us for this award. Next up is @lashortsfest !
