School Management Committee (SMC) Guidelines provide a reference framework for States and Union Territories to promote greater collaboration between schools, parents, teachers and local communities. With enhanced participation of parents and guardians, representation of women, inclusion of Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDGs), Children with Special Needs (CwSN) and involvement of academicians, alumni and community workers, the guidelines seek to build stronger, more inclusive and community-driven schools aligned with the vision of #NEP2020 #SMCGuidelines #SchoolEducation

On 15th May 2026, an MoU was signed in the presence of Shri @sanjayjavin , Secretary, DoSEL between the Department of School Education & Literacy (DoSEL), Ministry of Education, Government of India and the State of West Bengal represented by Dheeraj Sahu, Additional Secretary and Binod Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, respectively, to implement #PMSHRI Schools initiative across West Bengal. Aligned with the vision of #NEP2020, this initiative focuses on transforming existing schools into model institutions of excellence. These schools will serve as exemplar schools, guiding and supporting other nearby schools to enhance learning outcomes, innovation and holistic education. Shri Vibhu Goel, SPD West Bengal, Dr. Amarpreet Duggal, Joint Secretary, DoSEL and Shri UP Singh, Director were also present. #SchoolEducation #DoSEL

A Diplomatic Interaction, on Bharat Innovates 2026, with the Hon'ble Union Minister of Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, was organised at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, New Delhi, bringing together Ambassadors, High Commissioners, diplomats and officials from the GoI. Shri Pradhan in his address highlighted Bharat Innovates 2026 as a platform to deepen global partnerships in innovation, research, higher education and entrepreneurship under the India–France Year of Innovation.
