What happens when oceanfront parking becomes a vibrant public space?
That’s the vision EDSA, alongside a multi-disciplinary team, is bringing to Rudee Park — reimagining the waterfront site as a connected, experience-driven public landscape.
By replacing expanses of asphalt with walkable paths, including elevated walkways offering 270-degree views of the water, native planting and flexible gathering spaces, the design strengthens access to the shoreline while creating a more cohesive, human-scaled environment. Grounded in community input and ecological responsiveness, the approach reflects a broader shift toward places that perform, connect and endure. Stay tuned for more.

Following discussions on initial plans to relieve congestion along I-77 South in Charlotte, North Carolina, EDSA participated in a design competition to reimagine what this critical corridor could be.
Instead of treating the interstate as a divider, the concept transforms it into connective infrastructure, reclaiming underutilized space beneath the highway as a vibrant civic ground. Activated underpasses, pedestrian and bike networks and integrated transit come together to connect neighborhoods rather than divide them.
From barrier to network, the vision prioritizes movement, identity and experience, proving infrastructure can do more than move cars. It can shape cities.
