LIVE 27/03 at SPRINGTIJ festival 🌱✨ The NL-based duo Evelina Domnitch and Dmitry Gelfand, originally from Belarus and Russia, create challenging audiovisual installations deeply rooted in scientific—often nuclear and chemical—theory and techniques. As a viewer, their work can sometimes almost be experienced as an alchemical séance. This cross-pollination of art and science has already earned the duo several international awards. In Force Field, acoustically levitated water droplets resonate, vaporise and reassemble into spheroids, toroids and oscillating polygons while spinning nearly devoid of shear. The performance simultaneously taps into the 3-dimensionality of sound, elusive physicality of water, and rotational dynamics of celestial and subatomic bodies.

This spring, Evelina Domnitch @edomnitch presents her installation ER=EPR at Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles @cwb_paris in Paris. The work forms part of Deep Fields, an exhibition that explores the boundaries of physics and human perception. The exhibition brings contemporary artists into dialogue with key figures from, among others, the Light and Space movement, landscape art and the ZERO group. Deep Fields runs from 23 January to 26 March 2026. Domnitch’s participation is supported in part by the Stroom SPOT Scheme for Individual Exhibitions. #StroomDenHaag #Stroom #PoweredbyStroom #EvelinaDomnitch #CentreWallonieBruxelles

A preview of a new installation we’re developing, with incidental music by our beloved William Basinski @musex1 For a full video visit our youtube channel (link in bio)! A laser sheet illuminates the surface of a shallow pond, on which bubbles are continuously landing. Unlike other light sources, the laser’s coherent emission gets trapped inside a bubble’s skin and may carve out filamentous pathways along which the light propagates unperturbed. The latter phenomenon is called branched flow, and it occurs in a vast range of interactions between waves and matter. From light refracted by living tissue and tsunami waves in shallow waters to the gravitational lensing of light by galactic clusters and pulsar-generated microwaves in ionised interstellar clouds, branched flow emerges on every scale of the physical world. In Irisations, the branched flow of light can be experienced with the naked eye, as well as a variety of opto-fluidic dynamics reflected off a bubble’s molecule-thin membrane.
