First post from me in a very long time but this calls for it! Friday marked the release of my favourite band
@mymercurymusic debut album Starship 3000. A project which I have been involved in since I first heard Michael’s phone demos way back in 2021 and fell in love with his lyrics and songwriting.
Since the early days of me and Michael realising his songs in my home studio the project has grown both in personnel and ambition. After last year’s two EPs we set our sights on getting the whole band away together to make an album the old fashioned way.
The album was recorded throughout the summer last year, mostly in a big house near Marseille in the south of France, which you can hear captured across the record. It was one of the best recording experiences of my career, working with such incredible musicians on songs I was constantly in awe of. I think you can see in these photos what a blast we had.
I’m so proud of what we all created, and it’s out now for everyone to hear.
