Our Artist Of The Week is
@sevenlions !
Few artists have a stronghold on their genre the way Seven Lions does. Over the years, the producer and DJ has become synonymous with the melodic bass genre while forming his own distinctive edge in dance music production.
Seven Lions brings together all the necessary elements for a cathartic release. His narrative-driven style, deep emotional sentiment and dramatic soundscapes have resonated with fans far and wide, earning him more than one billion cumulative streams. Furthering his influence within the bass music scene was the formation of his imprint Ophelia Records, which has platformed central figures like Wooli, Kill The Noise and Trivecta, in addition to a long list of rising talent.
Last December, we saw Seven Lions release his critically acclaimed album, ‘Asleep in the Garden of Infernal Stars.’ The work garnered millions of streams and counting, and received the highly sought-after recognition as Favorite Album at the EDMAs in March.
Building on that momentum, Seven Lions dropped his latest work, ‘The Dreams Strange and Eternal,’ on May 1. Serving as an addendum to ‘Asleep in the Garden of Infernal Stars,’ Seven Lions states that the five-track EP comprises songs that “didn’t fit within [the album’s] sonic world.” This ultimately pushed him to create a forward-thinking work that could stand on its own.
Seven Lions is known for tapping into rising bass music talent. Upon the release of lead single, ‘Free’, Seven Lions and Ophelia Records announced a remix contest for the track. The winner will earn a spot on Seven Lions Soundcloud, an FL Studio license (all plug-ins edition), a one year FL Cloud Pro subscription, and an Ophelia merch box. Submissions are now closed, and the winning remix will be announced tomorrow.
