Letter from the Editor: On October 28, my father, Peter Drago, passed peacefully at home with his three daughters, wife, and family by his side. He was 83. It’s been a heart-heavy and hazy month. Similar to experiencing birth, witnessing death is something that forever changes you. As I sift through a lifetime of photos, I want to share the man behind the memories who shaped me. HE WAS WISE: My Dad had a PhD in physics from St. John’s University and was a professor at the U.S Merchant Marine Academy. Breaking down abstract subjects with patience, creativity, and his signature line, “Let us assume,” was his specialty. HE WAS WITTY: Unassuming with a dry sense of humor, he was always willing to pose for a goofy photo to get a laugh from his daughters. HE WAS INSIGHTFUL: Family vacations were chances to learn. Rides at Disney World became lessons in the laws of gravity. A road trip became a history class on Civil War battles. HE WAS A NOSTALGIC NEW YORKER: A Brooklyn and Queens kid, he loved sharing his memories of seeing Jackie Robinson play at Ebbets Field, eating Nathan’s hot dogs at Coney Island, and riding the subway with his grandson. Wherever he lived, he proudly remained a New Yorker. HE WAS A CALM PRESENCE: I loved sitting next to him as he read a giant book or watching him end his day at the kitchen table reading a magazine with a slice of Entenmann’s cake and a glass of milk. HE WAS CREATIVE: He self-published a book, loved movies, musicals, dancing & playing air guitar to classic rock. HE WAS SUPPORTIVE: He sat through dance recitals, gave me my first camera, and replied to Editor’s Edge emails with words of encouragement. HE WAS LOYAL: To his family & friends & to the Mets! He endured decades of hope & heartbreak with a “You gotta believe” spirit. Our father-daughter memories at Shea Stadium and Citi Field are our legacy together. Let’s Go Mets! HE WAS LOVING: Married to his soulmate, my mom, their 58-year marriage is an inspiration of dedication. Two nights before he passed, he asked if he could caress my cheek and said, “You and your sisters made my life worth living.” Thank you, Dad. So much of me is made of what I learned from you.

2025 marks 10 years since I started my photography business, and I’m thrilled to announce the launch of my new brand and website! More than a showcase of my work, this new site reflects who I am as a person and photographer -“Celebrating Life One Frame at a Time.” The goal was to create a fresh brand and website that represents my connection-driven approach, thoughtful style, and diverse portfolio. @editorsedge nailed it! “Weaving Moments of Human Connection,” the signature imagery throughout the site, echoes the balance of my artistry - equal parts poised and unpredictable, blending classic portraiture with candid imagery in true-to-life color. A huge thank you to Kristi Drago-Price of @editorsedge for guiding me through their Brand Strategy and Positioning Deep Dive program. Allowing me to focus on who I am, what makes my work unique, and understand who my clients are, which felt the most rewarding.  I hope you love it as much as I do, are moved by the imagery, and engaged by the messaging. Take a look via the link in my bio 🥂 #newbrand #jacksonhole #weddingphotographer #eventphotogrpaher

After celebrating 15 years in business, a name change, and a rebrand, I’m thrilled to say that the new Beth Bernstein Events website is live!    More than just a display of the stunning (if I may say so myself) events I’ve planned and produced over the years, the new site spotlights my industry expertise and contemporary approach to wedding planning. At its core, BBE is rooted in transparency, connection, experience, and creativity. I truly believe that wedding planning should be as fun as the wedding day itself. (I will, however, admit that I cry at every wedding. Not because something went wrong, but due to the strong connection and relationships I build and nurture with my clients.)   The goal was to design a custom site with a classic yet chic aesthetic that infused more of my personality into the messaging. I couldn’t have done this without my long-time friend and collaborator Kristi Drago-Price of @editorsedge .   The tone of the new copy directly reflects who I am and what clients can expect working with BBE, which is a direct result of working with Editor’s Edge. Kristi’s ability to drill down into what makes me “me,” curate signature images, and position a brand within the wedding industry is unparalleled. The phrase “East Coast Edge Meets Midwest Charm” alone says so much in just a few words!   When you look at the new site, I hope you’re delighted by the imagery and aesthetic but, more so, feel connected to who I am as a person and planner - a born and bred Jersey girl known for her uncanny ability to get sh*t done with a smile!   Check it out via the link in my bio and tell me what you think!
