That’s a wrap! We’ve taken a few days to come down from Monday’s awesome finale from Session A9. Thank you so much to all of the incredible artists, sound engineers, lighting technicians, venue staff and volunteers for making Edinburgh Tradfest 2026 an unforgettable one. Most of all, thank you, the audience, for supporting live music, storytelling and film.
We can’t wait to do it all again next year 💛
Going into our last day we’d like to thank all of you who have turned up to support live music (and storytelling and film) over the past ten days. It was great to meet so many of you over the run, from near and far.
We are certain that numbers are up on last year, and we’ve enjoyed some incredible performances.
So many to choose a highlight, but tonight’s sold out finale from Session A9 is sure to be a joyful blast of musical magic from some of Scotland’s finest tune players. A must see show.
KaĂŻa Kater (see above) is a rising star of the Canadian folk scene, and she will be with us at 6:30pm.
Before all of that there is a big day of events at the Storytelling Centre, and Rebellious Truth with Dick Gaughan at 2pm. Dick’s show is sold out but there may be some returns on the day, and of course you can choose to watch the livestream in the comfort of your own home.
Finally don’t forget our showcase event ETF Spotlight: always a great value show and a chance to see some of tomorrow’s stars today.
Can’t believe we are into our last weekend. We have had the most amazing week of music – sold out shows, five star reviews, incredible buzz around the venues. If you have not come along to any gigs yet, don’t miss out as we are in to our last three days. This afternoon’s video is of a very special visitor from Ukraine whom you may have seen gracing all our posters around town. Ganna is performing at The Traverse tonight at 8:15pm. We recommend not missing her!
🎉 Flying right into Tradfest’s second weekend with our second BTS video winner - RANT! We thought this was just too funny not to win. They are one of Scotland’s finest fiddle bands and will be playing the main evening slot tonight at The Traverse at 8.15pm. Tickets still available on website at link in bio.
Before then we have The Nexus Project at 6.30pm, a genuine intersection of jazz, classical, traditional and folk styles.
Over half-way through Tradfest now and what a time it’s been. Still another weekend-and-a-bit to go, but here’s a dash through just some of the tremendous talent we’ve had already. More highlights to come 💛
On today’s Trad-tinerary, we would advice that you first go out and vote! Once that’s all sorted, do check out our big evening show tonight - website link in bio - from the Brian Molley Quartet, at 8.15pm in Traverse Theatre.
🎷Known as primarily a jazz band, BMQ are presenting a show all about the roots of jazz, one of which is, they posit, Scottish Traditional music.
🎻 Before them, we have Northern Resonance at 6.30pm, who’ll bring modern Scandinavian trad at its best.
Tonight we have another SOLD OUT show with The Onlies (above) at 6.30pm who bring their old-time, 21st century style. Followed by the Furrow Collective at 8.15pm, who bring four of our finest folk musicians into one irresistible band.
Last tickets for the Furrow Collective on our website.
Day 5 of Tradfest already?! Just a wee reminder that Douglas from Soundhouse, along with some wonderful volunteers, will have collection buckets after each concert raising money for Medical Aid Palestine.
If you have any spare notes or coins, the donation would be mightily appreciated 🙏
