Buckle up for a brilliant night of hilarity as drag artist Eden Spaghetti takes centre stage to host a very special edition of Bright Club for Pride Month.
From burlesque glamour ghoul to technicolour court jester, Eden makes absolutely no sense - and looks fantastic doing it.
Expect fierce looks, razor-sharp wit and big laughs as six researchers and University of St Andrews experts swap lectures for laughter, turning their specialist subjects into smart, surprising comedy. The academics providing the jokes are:
Scotia McDonald: Award-winning Application Developer
Isi Smy: Behavioral Ecologist
Kim Mehnert: Thermoelectrics Researcher
Annah McCurry: Aggression researcher (and proud sidekick to Mori the dog)
Tom Green: Recent PhD graduate in the Centre for Behavioural Diversity
Bobby May: Lecturer in Psychology and Bright Club stalwart
After being coached by a professional comedian, our academics are ready to trade world-class research for a night of witty repartee, quick-fire comedy and laugh-out-loud moments. CLIMAX is a one-of-a-kind production showcasing captivating performances of all forms of drag, burlesque, and cabaret from guests hailing from all across Scotland and beyond. The theme “Mythos” is all about folklore and its lasting impact. Think cultural legends, contemporary mythmaking, and concepts beyond comprehension. This is an immersive event, we encourage you to come dressed to impress!
This installment of CLIMAX takes place in Dundee’s very own Firewater on the evening of Tuesday, May 12th. Doors open at 8pm with the main event downstairs running from 8:30pm-10pm followed by the queer club night “Afterglow” until 2:30am. Tickets are £5 ahead and £7 on the door. CLIMAX is a strictly 18+ event, so make sure to bring your ID. We can’t wait to see you there!

feel like i always look my best through @szaranekphotography ‘s camera lens. this medical themed shoot was so fun, and I cannot recommend Owen’s work as a photographer enough! when the opportunity presented itself, i knew i wanted to shoot this lovely little latex look from my number at @climaxdundee back in february. when headlines and propaganda are spewing nonsense about trans people using the medical system to “mutilate” our bodies, i wanted to play with that idea and turn it on its head both in the performance and the shoot. anyway, time to scrub in… oh, nurse! 🏥✨

✨🪻 The Lavender Song 🪻✨
Thank you to everyone who came out to make the first CLIMAX of 2026 so special! For the theme “Speakeasy,” I chose to perform a Berlin cabaret classic “The Lavender Song.” Written in the brief bright spot of Weimar Germany, it was considered one of the first queer anthems. Against the current rising tide of fascism, it only felt apt to shine a light on our queer ancestors and the safe havens they built for one another even in the face of oppression. Without being too sappy, CLIMAX every month truly does feel like our own little queer utopia, and I feel so lucky to get to share those lavender nights with so many talented and creative friends 💜

This look and performance inspired by David Cronenberg’s “The Brood” has been cooking in my brain for over two years now, and I’m so proud of how it turned out. I’m a huge fan of horror cinema, and feel that Cronenberg’s body horror specifically does such an excellent job of exploring the anxieties and discomforts of the human experience in a visceral and impactful way. For me, as a transgender man, being pregnant would be a real life instance of body horror, made more so in a time where both the rights of bodily autonomy for trans people and reproductive freedoms for people with uteri are being maliciously eroded before our eyes.
