In progress… Capturing the soft spots, worn by wheelbarrows, resting refuse sacks and unpruned shadows. Painting is new to me, but simultaneous to sculpture at the moment—assemblages collected through image, too mundane or unimportant to re-present through form.

“Together at the Seams” A new group exhibition at The Art Academy, Bankside Private View: Wednesday 26th March, 6-9pm Open: 21st-31st March ‘We live in a time of social, technological, and ecological rupture. As these fractures emerge, we are left with a question: what does it mean to repair? Repair is more than mending what is broken; it is about recognising what lingers, what needs reimagining, and what can be carried forward. It exists in cycles of labour, in acts of preservation and adaptation, and in the evolving relationship between humans, technology, and the environment. This exhibition brings together artists exploring transformation, through material experimentation, ecological reflection, and an engagement with the tensions between past and future. Some examine innovation’s role in shaping collective futures, while others engage with cycles of renewal, labour, and survival. Their works consider the artifacts and symbols we inherit, the gestures of care that persist across generations, and the ways human behaviour shapes and reshapes the world around us.’ Featured Artists: Anouk Verviers @anouk.verviers Eden McDowel @edenmcdowell Ellen Gilbert @ellengilbert_ Florence Bennet @florencetallulahbennet Naod Keflom @naodkef Naomi Marchbank @nay.ohh.mi Will Hardy @willhardystudio Curated by Naomi Marchbank and Ellen Gilbert Design by Gilbert Carnell-Mckean @gilbert_abc 📍The Art Academy, Bankside Campus 185C Bankside, Park Street, London, SE1 9BL Gallery opening hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm Saturdays & Sundays, 11am to 4pm Supported by Patrons of the Future, Imagine Foundation, The Art Academy and Goldsmiths Exhibitions Hub

“Witch’s Hat” Cyanotype and lithograph on BFK Rives paper 69cm x 63.7cm Categories: Filtration, Erosion Control, Silt Control. An archive of a protective ceremony shielding a water drain from silt, waste, and detritus summoned up by construction sites and eroded flood zones. Surveillance captures the demonstrative footage of the usage of a Witch’s Hat—a drain guard made from a highly permeable non-woven polypropylene geotextile that traps solids and oils, but allows water to drain through. Perhaps it’s the performance of placing the Witch’s hat into the drain with assistance of four hands, or maybe it’s the form itself—directly mimicking the structure of a conical hat worn by witches—the device holds power and protection over the errors of infrastructure.

DUMPING GROUND, Exhibition, Aug - Sept 2024 Curated by @andrew_kernan_ , @mariettemoor & @noelleturner_ PRIVATE VIEW: Thursday, 8th August, 6-9 PM 🔗RSVP via Eventbrite, link in bio coming soon Exhibition Dates: 9th August – 14th September Thursday – Saturday, 12 – 6 PM Location: Hypha HQ, Unit 3, Euston Tower, 286 Euston Road, NW1 3DP Exhibiting Artists: @federicoarani , @healing.grotto , @malcolm.bradley , @aliglover_ , @andrew_kernan_ , @vladimirlalic , @edenmcdowell , @mariettemoor , @joemoss1 , @george_richardson , @christhomp1991 , @noelleturner_ , @orsolazane About: Dumping Ground presents thirteen artists whose practices create fictions unnervingly close to our reality, through the recycling of unwanted material, both physical and psychological. The exhibition has been turned into an immersive space: the windows have been blocked off, covered in wads of cotton, and dim lighting coats the surfaces. Within, a graveyard of discarded matter has become a harvest for fertile life and mutation: objects itch to redefine themselves; a man’s head becomes a CD drive, a hoover sings, and insects punctuate the room. Dumping Ground asks, what happens to repressed things when left to rot? Images and objects are regurgitated, fused and multiplied. Walls are fractured, a bone is dislocated, and in its place grows something else, some kind of fungus undiagnosed. Closest Stations: Warren St, Euston Square, & Great Portland St (all under 5 mins away) Support: Kindly supported by @hyphastudios and @britishlandplc Design by @psychetropes Special thanks to @joemoss1 for his curatorial work in the early stages of the project!

“Our Allotment” Installation view The central, fragmented “greenhouse” dispersed a fine mist through copper hosing for 17 seconds, every 17 minutes. This condensation collected throughout the day in a reservoir at the base, and would evaporate every night. 2023 @goldsmithsmfa Degree Show
