Just Imagine if even a fraction of our temple lands became active spaces for healing — yoga, meditation, & holistic well-being.
Communities would thrive, happiness quotient would rise, & most importantly—the nation’s lifestyle disease burden would reduce drastically.
I truly believe the world can #healinindia

Build a sacred space, and fill it with goodness. That’s what we try to do on Broome St.
Our bodies, our minds, and the other physical spaces we inhabit are all sacred spaces, and we can design them so they reflect that. Especially our minds.
A temple isn’t just a place to worship the Gods and a Yoga studio isn’t a place just to do a class, they are physical containers for finding alignment with our sense of being and sense of the transcendent.
But they work best when intentionally designed to be such a space.
I’m always working on the temple because it is an expression of my heart and creativity, and that’s the same reason why I am always working on what is inside of me, too.

Sunday was my last class in NY until July (I’ll be here to teach one class on May 22nd) and look forward to the classes in Europe coming up and being back in NY in July, too :)
Loving that @minkedupwhiteboy keeps finding my old prints from the late 80’s on different IG accounts. After looking for them for years, they are all coming at once. The Robert Smith shirt is selling for $700!! Insane. I designed and printed shirts starting in high school and started my first tshirt business instead of going to college, and then went to India in 1988 and stopped doing rock tees… but @rmosesnamarupa got me back into it pretty quickly by asking me to print tees for the Sivananda Ashram (that he designed) which I did. They used to call me “T-shirt Eddie,” which i joked was my spiritual name (please don’t call me that 😂). I wouldn’t reprint any of these again, but I love seeing them.
And of course, I’ve never lost my love for designing and printing tees, as anyone who has ever been to the temple knows :)
While chaos prevails on earth, the universe keeps doing its thing
About…
108 moons fit between the earth and the moon.
108 suns fit between the earth and sun.
108 earths fit across the sun.
Our heart beats about 108,000 times for each 24 hour rotation of the earth on its axis
Try chanting one mantra 108 x per day or counting 108 breaths per day and imagine you are aligning yourself with cosmic symmetry; as above, so below, as outside, so inside.
After some time, as it is said, the perception of outside and inside, above and below, disappear.

Here are 3 Sun Salutation variations, slightly different formations than the open level Yoga Sangraha class. I like doing various types of salutations because you can get a sense of how the limbs of your body can work together in different ways, and link naturally into different shapes. I don’t use the sun salutations as a warm up, I use them for full body and breath integration. As well, the bhavana, or emotional sense or mood we have while we do them is as important as the movements themselves. There should be a sense of gratitude, thanks, or awe for our ability to move, to breathe, to be present, and to feel enlivened by all of this inwardly. The sun salutations are a physical expression of awe, and to be in or have a body is an amazingly unfathomable experience. We don’t have the slightest idea about how we have to come exist. Just a bunch of pretty good ideas. In place of certainty (which is not always dependable) awe and gratitude are pretty good ideas, too.
