Mother Mae I is a malevolent, sentient skull that has gratted herself onto the headless corpse of a fallen orc shaman, puppeteering the body with grim delight. Where once the shaman spoke to spirits, Mother Mae I now whispers her own dreadful sermons into the world.
Through foul enchantments and an unsettling amount of personal charisma, she has enspelled two goblin-kin and an orc she has declared to be her beloved, Smooth Tom. Whether Smooth Tom shares this enthusiasm remains unclear, though he insists he does and repeats it often. Very often.
The other followers, Supple Tom and Strange Tom, were not originally named Tom, but Mother Mae I has made it clear that this was an error on their part.
Together they travel the land spreading Mother Mae I’s doctrine: that the world is sorely lacking in Toms, and that with proper devotion, magical persuasion, and occasional light necromancy, this tragic shortage can be corrected.
In time, Mother Mae I believes all will become Tom.
And it will be glorious!
