Tomorrow, 5 graduates will be honored at a hooding ceremony for our first ever doctoral program!
Our Doctor of Education in Rural Education prepares educators for the unique challenges rural schools face. These graduates have been equipped with the knowledge to take on those challenges for the benefit of their communities.
The students being recognized for this achievement include Tamara (Beth) Bean, Melissa Ferguson, Alison Fowler, Gregory Lovelis and Makaayla Wood.

At the conclusion of this year's Greek Week Competition, Greek Life chapters hand-delivered 4,795 hygiene items to Mama T’s Bread and Blessings: Transitional Living Community in Ada.

Each year top ECU seniors are invited to apply and undergo a rigorous application and interview process for a chance to receive the George Nigh Award. The award goes to the top graduating senior from ECU annually and is named in honor of the former governor of Oklahoma and ECU alumnus.
This year's finalists are Alexus King, Taylen Middendorf Miller, Alyssa Rogers, Charlie Rogers, Seth Spady, and Abigail Welt. The winner will be announced on a the Spring Commencement on Friday, May 15th.

At ECU, we value rest, reflection and wellness. That's why we recently celebrated the grand opening of a new self-care room in the Chickasaw Business and Conference Center, providing students with a dedicated space to recharge.
The room is dedicated to the memory of Margot Trémolière, an international student who attended ECU through the Global Education exchange program with the University of Limoges in France.

ECU alumnus, Brad Calip, will be recognized as a Distinguished Alumnus this May. Calip was a four-year starter at quarterback and setting multiple school records. In recognition of his accomplishments, he was inducted into the East Central University Hall of Fame in 1991 and later into the College Football National Hall of Fame in 2003.
Following his collegiate career, Calip played professionally in both the United States Football League and the Canadian Football League. Later, Calip transitioned into coaching, where he built an extensive and successful career at both the high school and collegiate levels.
