FLINT BLADE
Flint Blade weaves sonic textures for the ecstatic dance-floor and beyond to create uplifting soundscapes live in the moment, with a special hybrid set combining live DJing and spontaneous live-looping for a unique ecstatic journey of the soul.
Channeling inspiration via electronics, beatbox, vocals and various world instruments, Flint has made a name for himself by mastery of the Chapman Stick — a rare instrument most people have never seen before.
Invented in 1969 California, the Stick combines bass and guitar into a full-range fretboard played exclusively by two-handed tapping; conjuring rich tapestries of sound full of whimsy and wonder.
Based in South Florida, Flint tours nationally, performing on festival stages, ecstatic dance floors and conscious spaces across the country while releasing beautiful bangers on High Vibe Records and his own label, In Love Records.

illoom
With a dub saturated sound, solid track selection and a reputation for bringin’ it proper, illoom has been pushing the limits of speakers and genres for years. With well over a decade behind the decks, James Loomis aka “illoom” has served as one of the pioneering figures in the Salt Lake City mutant bass arena.
Founder of Liquid Dubwise, one of the longest running dubstep nights in North America, he keeps his city on the cutting edge of subwoofer culture. illoom always brings a fresh take on the music and new tunes every time. Illoom’s sound is defined by high energy, sultry basslines, frequent references to Roots and Dub, Ultra fast mixes and mash-up’s see well over 30 tunes blended on the turntables in an hour, in a seamless progression that, well, makes perfect sense. An old school disciple of the proper role of a dj to the dance floor, the man is an active participant in the container, not a passive face staring at a computer screen........a true 50 Hz Healer.

The Ecstatic Dance Community of SLC offers our deepest condolences to the Krishna Temple communities of Salt Lake City and Spanish Fork on the loss of their incredible founder, leader, and visionary, Caru Das.
Caru was a generous supporter of Ecstatic Dance in SLC, helping our community grow and flourish by welcoming us into the temple space. While he did not personally participate in the dances, he deeply appreciated the life, joy, and vibrant energy they brought into the temple.
We were also blessed to spend time with him and his beloved wife and spiritual companion, Vaibhavī, in Hawaii - sharing in the beauty of waterfalls and lush green landscapes together. These memories are deeply cherished.
Caru embodied a life of dedicated spiritual service and consistently showed up with a warm smile, creative spirit, and an open heart. While we feel the sadness of no longer meeting him in his physical form, we trust that his spirit is free and continues to inspire from the beyond.
Tonight’s dance will be dedicated to his memory and to the Krishna community he so lovingly nurtured.
With love and heartfelt sympathy,
The Ecstatic Dance Community of SLC
