๐ŸŒŠ Deep sea mining is becoming a major global conversation - but what does it actually mean for the Caribbean? From our fisheries and tourism economies to marine ecosystems and coastal communities, this is an issue that could affect the region in significant ways. Yet thereโ€™s still very limited in-depth Caribbean journalism helping audiences understand whatโ€™s happening and whatโ€™s at stake. Thatโ€™s why we created the Caribbean Deep Sea Mining Media Fellowship โœจ This fellowship will support Caribbean journalists with the training, mentorship, editorial guidance, and publication assistance needed to produce strong, impactful reporting on deep sea mining and its regional implications. Because these conversations need context. They need accountability. And they need Caribbean storytellers at the centre of them. ๐ŸŒŽ ๐Ÿ“ Applications are open now ๐Ÿ”— Link in Bio! ๐Ÿ—“ Deadline: Monday 11th May, 2026 (11:59pm AST) ๐Ÿซฑ๐Ÿพโ€๐Ÿซฒ๐Ÿฝ In partnership with Jamaica Environment Trust, RISE UP for the Ocean, and EcoVybz Environmental Creatives. 2025 was just the beginning, 2026 we doubled the movement ๐ŸŒโšก๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ More youth, more voices, more action for our oceans and our future. GGI 2026 showed whatโ€™s possible when young people are given the space, tools, and belief to lead. And weโ€™re not stopping here. Weโ€™re building toward an even bigger GGI 2027, but to keep this momentum alive, we need your support. Invest in youth. Back climate action. Power the next generation of leaders. Support @ecovybz and @kneyzusenergy to continue this momentum. Special thanks to @andrewbisnath for capturing these moments and @briantvio for creating this amazing reel and always supporting our projects! Stay tuned for more โšก๏ธ #GreenGenerationInitiative #GGI2026 #YouthForClimate #OceanAction Sustainability ClimateLeadership

It starts far offshore, but its impacts are felt across Caribbean shores. Our latest blog, From the Sargasso Sea to Caribbean Shores: The Story of Sargassum, breaks down the origins of sargassum and why understanding it matters. This is the first in our Sargassum Sense blog series, where we unpack the science, impacts, myths, and responses surrounding sargassum across the Caribbean. #SargassumSense #Sargassum #Caribbean #OceanConservation #ClimateChange Link in our bio ! https://ecovybz.blog/2026/04/02/from-the-sargasso-sea-to-caribbean-shores-the-story-of-sargassum/
