Wassup this isn’t a post I would normally make, or a situation I ever intended to be involved in. But given the current circumstances and the amount of people who’ve reached out, I feel like it’s worth offering some clarity. This is my take. 🍻
Earlier this week,
@level1 @conorsux posted a video titled “CATPISS CRASHOUT CRISIS.” It was framed as a review of a movie I released this fall with
@capeeshsupply . I value criticism — it’s necessary for accountability and progression — and I respect people having and sharing opinions. That said, as many have pointed out to me, the video came across less as critique and more as a hit piece filled with hate.
I did not ask for the video to be removed. Level 1 has since taken it down and posted a damage control statement, so I wanted to shed some light on that. Honestly, if Level 1 wants to pivot into talking shit on 20-year-olds, they should let it rock and be willing to say it to my face. Whether they realized they made a mistake or were more concerned about sponsors, I’m not sure. I haven’t heard from them personally — all good, mistakes happen.
It would be unfortunate if a platform like that discouraged someone from skiing or creating. I also think directing interns to produce content like this without proper review can be damaging.
@canigetthoseclipsfromtoday , who edited the video, is young like myself and shouldn’t be tied to something that could hurt his reputation as he grows his career.
This post isn’t meant to spread hate. Our sport and community are small, and there isn’t much room for that. I know I’m in a privileged position within skiing, and I’ve worked hard to be here. I’ll keep learning, creating, and supporting others.
Big love to everyone who reached out. I’m loving life and creating with my friends. My videos won’t always appeal everyone. Sorry for the rant. 💯💯❤️💛💚
Dream it do it.
