When was the last time you inspected your steering? This Pearson had a close call! While changing out the steering chain and cables after we found broken strands during an inspection, we discovered some dangerous wear that was hiding inside the bronze sheaves. There was only 1/3 of a clevis pin left! Luckily the sheaves themselves were not too worn out, we could upgrade the pins to stainless steel to fix the problem and make the system stronger and more durable. Regular service and preventative maintenance can save you a lot of headaches, and like Captain Ron says: If it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen out there!
