Most people won’t notice what was changed in this shot.
And that’s exactly the point.
A small cleanup to remove distractions and keep the frame focused on what matters.
This is the kind of VFX that quietly does its job and steps out of the way.

THE REVEAL IS HERE!
Firstly, thank you to all of the people who dropped your guesses on the first video. You guys had some amazing guesses, but hard luck nobody guessed it correctly!
Yes, you saw it right we got this request from the director to remove the wires from it, totally unexpected right? We do a lot of weird and unexpected VFX like this which is actually invisible.
Stay tuned for the next challenge.

Welcome to my new series: GUESS WHERE THE VFX IS?
Most people think VFX is just explosions or some cool effects and superheroes but the truth is some of the most complex visual effects are designed to be completely invisible.
The shot looks simple right? but I promise you there is some digital magic at play what do you think we changed, added or removed?
Drop you guesses in comments.
The breakdown will be posted on Friday. Let's see who gets it right!
Shot is from the film: Finding Faith

Prison glass cleanup from King Ivory
This one was all elbow grease.
Reflections of the crew on the glass? Gone, but not without a fight.
Tons of masking
Solids and patches from all over
Gradients, fractal noise, and manual blending
Removed lens distortion and re-applied it later
No AI. Just hard labor and patience 🥲
Sometimes the most invisible shots are the hardest ones to pull off.

Stormy skies, a jet cutting through the chaos. This was a fun one to build.
We stabilized the plane and rebuilt the camera animation from scratch since the original motion wasn’t usable. Tracked the background mostly just to add some shake.
Then came the atmosphere:
Backlit 2D cards with the sun to give a sense of depth
Re-lit them for lightning
Custom rain assets + water drips on the lens
God rays, lens flares
And yeah… a ton of cloud cards

🔥 REEL BREAKDOWN — Fire Compositing | Short Film - The Traveler 🔥| VFX by @almostsahil
Every story has a moment that defines it — this was that moment.
In The Traveler, a supernatural short set in 1887 New York, grief isn't just a feeling — it’s a force. And this diary? It was everything. The emotional core. The object of the villain’s obsession. The last connection to a lost love.
Bringing this hero shot to life meant layering emotion into every flicker. From intricate fire comps, realistic scorch markings, drifting embers, to tight masking and depth-driven blur passes — this sequence was all about controlled chaos.
The book may have burned, but this moment lit up the entire narrative.
🎬 The Traveler — A film about grief, memory, and what we’re forced to let go of.

🎬Crafting Realism in VFX – Camera Flashes That Feel Authentic!🎬
In a recent project, I was given raw footage where a model posed while a photographer "clicked"—but the flashes were missing. My job? Making it feel real.
To sell the effect convincingly, I focused on: ✅ Flash Shape & Exposure: Ensuring the intensity and falloff felt natural. ✅ Flash Speed: Timing it just right to mimic real camera strobes. ✅ Rotoscoping Affected Objects: Carefully isolating elements lit by the flash for accurate light interaction. ✅ Creating Shadows Separately: Crafting realistic shadows cast by the flashes for proper depth. ✅ Light Wrap for Realism: Adding subtle light spill around the camera and photographer to blend everything seamlessly.
These details made the scene feel immersive—like the flashes were captured on set.
If you're looking for a VFX compositor who pays attention to the small details that make a BIG difference, let's connect! 🎥🔥
