Great to see our Maroubra Passivhaus project taking shape.

This is day 4 of 5 of the @eclipsepassivehouse panel install. With a team of 10 guys onsite, over about 2 hours this morning we saw about 1/3 of the upper floor wall panels installed, insulation is in, windows installed, wraps and battens are on and service penetrations are in place. The crew from @surespace_qualitybuilding are following closely behind sealing the remaining gaps as we go.

Roof will be on tomorrow with preliminary blower door test to follow shortly.

Factory made panels means controlled factory production, and a dry and enclosed building envelope within a week onsite, ready to run services, claddings and internal fit off.

Our prefab system is the key to high performance construction, speed, quality on very tight Inner West sites.
This was great work from our team installing this addition to the Annandale Passive House project. In three days, the project went from a concrete slab to a complete building envelope. This is months faster than any traditional, with the added bonus of the house being a Passive House.
The house will have a high level or airtightness which will also ensure that the internal temperature and humidity is always controlled and comfortably consistent in every room. It will also always be extremely comfortable inside, will have a healthy internal environment and will be highly energy efficiency.

The airtightness work on our Marrickville Passive House have been completed and we have carried out our blower door test last week to prove our work.
Controlling unwanted and uncontrolled air movement through the building envelope is a key aspect to a Passive House. Without this, the house will gain and lose heat or coolness at a staggering rate. This is all about ensuring that a building is comfortable for people to be inside and is super economical to own and run. A high level of airtightness ensures that the internal temperature and humidity is always controlled and comfortably consistent in every room.
We were very happy for our test to prove our work with a blower door test result of 0.43ACH50, fantastic work by our team. A Passive House has a requirement to achieve an airtightness of 0.6ACH50. Our result was nearly 30% better than required for a Passive House
A Typical building could be anywhere from 10 – 20ACH50. What this means in a typical building is that the entire internal air volume is exchanged with the outside air 10-20 times every hour. In every hour the entire internal volume of air in the building leaks out through the building envelope 10-20 times.

Our Passive House building envelope is complete at our Glenbrook Passive House project. Over the past week we completed the internal airtightness works and carried out our blower door test earlier this week to prove our work.
Airtightness in a building is key to controlling unwanted air movement through the building envelope. A building that is not airtight will gain and lose heat or coolness at a staggering rate. Achieving a high level of airtightness is key to ensuring that a building is comfortable for people to be inside and is super economical to own and run.
A building with a high level or airtightness will also ensure that the internal temperature and humidity is always controlled and comfortably consistent in every room.
A Passive House has a requirement to achieve an airtightness of 0.6ACH50. A Typical building could be anywhere from 10 – 20ACH50.
