As children’s inpatient care moves from The Royal Brompton to Evelina London, many families and staff are reflecting on the memories, care and hope these hospitals have provided over the years 💙 For families like Vashti & Lily’s, The Brompton was never just a building — it was the people who carried them through the hardest moments with compassion, expertise and love. “Part of both of us will always remain at The Royal Brompton… the real magic was always the people and the ethos behind it. And that doesn’t end here.” ❤️ Whilst we say goodbye to familiar places, we also look ahead to new beginnings — knowing that the care, compassion and dedication behind these services continues on through the incredible teams who deliver it every day. Thank you for sharing your story, Vashti 💙

The new GALAXY clinic at Evelina London will soon officially open and it’s out of this world! Over 100 children shared their brilliant ideas, and now every clinic area has planets and space-themed names, making the space fun, welcoming, and designed with kids at the heart. We’ll miss Walrus, but we’re super excited to explore this amazing new clinic! ECHO is supporting the opening and can’t wait for our members to see it. We’re looking for volunteers to help with welcoming visitors and giving directions. If you can spare a half-day or full day from May 11th onwards, come join us and be part of the adventure! Message us or email us [email protected] to volunteer or find out more -your mission awaits!

We were lucky to have two wonderful volunteers in the office with us in April – Gemma and Ruby❤️ Ruby spent time helping to put together our care packs, while Gemma supported our fundraising team by sending out appeals to Trusts and Foundations. Every task, big or small, makes a real difference to the people we support. We truly couldn’t do our work without the dedication and kindness of our volunteers. We are so grateful for everything you do ✨

3D printed hearts making a real difference 🫀 In February half term, our ECHO teens and their parents came together for an ECHO x Health Tech Research Centre event, they were amazing at learning and talking about research and seeing 3D heart printing up close ‘To provide each child or young person with treatment that is best for them, an in depth understanding of their particular heart and its structure is vital. Where a patient’s anatomy is particularly complex, the team at Evelina London Children’s Hospital use CT and MRI scanning to create detailed 3D models of the heart. These are used to learn as much as possible about the shape of the heart, any structural defects and the impact these have on heart health. They also help the team to consider different treatment options and plan surgical and cardiac catheter-based procedures, tailored to the needs of each child.’ – Nick – HRC. @nihrchildrenhrc @kcl_london
