Furia Dub by @kaydee_98 is out now! Our tenth release is a special one. About a year ago, Swiss producer KAYDEE reached out with a heartfelt message and a playlist of demos. I was already a big fan of KAYDEE, so releasing some tracks from him was a no-brainer. Choosing the three best demos from his playlist was no easy feat, but I truly believe that these are the best tracks that KAYDEE has produced thus far, and they came together nicely as a cohesive and tight EP for Echo Locations. South African duo @novelty_cpt , who released an excellent EP for @mitsubasa_official today, was our choice for a remixer. I am also a huge fan of Novelty, who were early supporters of the label, and their remix absolutely delivers. Furia Dub begins with a one-of-a-kind track, "The Introduction of the Soundboy." This track is an ode to both dub reggae and uptempo dub techno, with tasteful samples and masterclass production. It's a sincere statement about dub techno's roots, and the perfect track to kick things off. Next up is "Sources," a no-nonsense dub techno weapon with an addictive synth loop and hardgroove elements. This track is sure to demolish any dancefloor that it makes its way onto. The title track keeps the momentum going, with a catchy synth riff and hardgroove-inspired shuffling drums. The additional synth that comes in in the second half of the track just makes things even better. Wrapping things up is the Novelty remix of "The Introduction of the Soundboy." Novelty take a more subdued approach with their remix, but it's still jacking and groovy just like you'd expect from them. This track is reminiscent of a dubbed-out version of Ian Pooley’s classic techno track, Chord Memory, which is one of my favourite tracks of all time. Link in bio 🤍

The thirteenth Echo Locations mix is out now! For this installation, Vancouver's @awood55 steps up with a vinyl mix for your listening pleasure. AWood is a beloved figure in the Vancouver rave community, having become a staple at the hottest techno events in the city. Not only that, they are easily one of the friendliest faces you could meet on a dancefloor. When I booked AWood in Calgary, we closed the night with an impromptu B2B. It was a blast to mix tracks with someone who is just as passionate about contemporary dub techno as myself. We had many tracks in common which doesn't happen often for me in a B2B. AWood knows their uptempo dub techno and it really shows in this mix. This mix isn't limited to just dub techno, though, as AWood also throws in a couple surprises to keep you on your toes. We've got several releases in the works for 2026 that are very much in line with our latest release from @kaydee_98 and I can't wait for you all to hear them. Recap: Resonate – Echo Locations x Resound Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first Resonate night last month!!! It was such an amazing evening, packed with friends, familiar faces, and new ones all coming together through music! We kicked things off with an opening by Kozue, incredible borderless mix from our guest ZDBT, and a birthday closing set from Antonio Elgeta! Toi added subtle lighting and audio-reactive visuals throughout the night. Big love to everyone who came to dance, hang out, and share the energy. We’ll be back sometime in 2026! Extempore by @minorsineproject is out now! This release was carefully crafted by Canada's very own Minor Sine Project, a duo consisting of @dj_age_ and @sandaumusic . Although A G E is based in Calgary and Sandau is now based in Montreal, the two continue to produce tracks together. They previously contributed the track "Cosmic Rumble" to our debut release, Reflexions, and have now returned to the label with their own EP. Minor Sine Project are known for their diversity, with their tracks spanning such genres as electro, house, minimal, acid, and, of course, dub techno and dub house. What I was after was obviously dub techno and dub house, and the process of putting together the perfect three original tracks for an Echo Locations EP was a lengthy one, but it was incredibly worth it and I'm very pleased with the results. The Extempore EP kicks off with "Balter," a high-energy techno roller with a warping lead synth and a groovy bassline. It's unlike any Minor Sine Project track that I've heard before, but still very much a track that only they could make. Next up is the title track, an uptempo yet subdued seven minute dub house epic, complete with garage-influenced drums and a deep bassline. Slowing things down a bit is "Reservation Only," a deep and dubby house groover with perhaps one of the most infectious basslines I've ever heard. Closing the EP is the @_xyiz_ remix of "Balter." xyiz returns to the label with a jacking dub techno stomper that is an undeniable dancefloor weapon, akin to his tracks "Like This" and "Really" from his Polychromatic EP released on Echo Locations earlier this year. Echo Locations and @resound_audio_visual are teaming up to bring you the first edition of Resonate, our new collaborative event series based in Vancouver, featuring local favourite @z.d.b.t . The team behind Resonate is @antonioelgeta , a DJ and the creative force behind the dub techno record label Echo Locations, @kozue__dj , a highly in-demand and versatile DJ, and @toi_kazuya , a VJ and graphic designer. While this will be their first event together, Echo Locations and Resound have a history of collaborating, dating back to the beginning of both projects, with Toi Whakairo designing the Echo Locations logo and cover art and VJing several Echo Locations events, Kozue being booked for multiple Echo Locations events, and Antonio Elgeta being the first guest DJ for Resound's @bsidedotradio and @ble___ach residencies. With Antonio Elgeta recently moving back to Vancouver after spending two years in Calgary where he organized over thirty events with his friends @djwebmd and Tragamin, he knew he needed a new team in Vancouver, and he only had Toi Whakairo and Kozue in mind. After casually pitching the idea of organizing an event on his own for his 32nd birthday and booking Kozue for it at one of the Resound Bleach residencies, Toi Whakairo reached out the next day suggesting that the three of them throw the event together. Great minds think alike, as they say. ZDBT was our first pick from day one for this event's guest DJ and we couldn't think of anyone more fitting to kick things off with a bang. Announcing the next Reflexions event at @loopholecoffeebar ! We are thrilled to be bringing the renowned Vancouver-based producer @z.d.b.t to Calgary just two weeks before he plays a set at @basscoastfest . This one has been in the works for a while. ZDBT is a creative force to be reckoned with. Formerly of the defunct duo @1800haightstreet , ZDBT has been paving his own path as a prolific and diverse producer over the last decade with releases on labels like @ghostly , @specialsworldwide , and @anaffisanaff , just to name a few. He's also in the duo DOSIS with @daniel__rincon , and he produces techno as @phost369 . Last year he remixed the @djwebmd track "Kudasaru" for Echo Locations under his Phost alias. If you've caught me playing a set in the last few years, you've likely heard me play his track "ELASTIC" with @pradomonroe and @slimmediaplayer , which is a personal favourite of mine and beloved by many other DJs. Joining ZDBT will be myself, @antonioelgeta , returning from my recent move to Vancouver just for this event, and local favourite @mmmalina.wav . Link in bio 🤍 Poster by @eta2k

This is xyiz's favourite track from the Polychromatic project and we can see why. Marko Paolo has offered up a hypnotic and heavy techno stomper that is destined for dark warehouses and the afterhours. We wanted to give out this track for free as way to say thanks for all of the support so far. None of this could have been possible without the artists producing great music like this and the fans checking out our Bandcamp. The twelfth Echo Locations mix is out now! After a brief hiatus, our mix series makes a bold return with an entry from the Japanese Vancouver-based DJ and friend of the label @kozue__dj . Known for her broad track selection and eclectic taste, Kozue has been making a big splash in the Vancouver dance music scene over the last couple years, playing sets for just about every iconic underground dance music event series that you can think of, at legendary venues like the now defunct @paradiseculturalsociety and @letterbox_gallery . In addition to being a highly in-demand DJ, she also co-hosts the @resound_audio_visual radio show at @bsidedotradio with the Japanese Vancouver-based visual artist @toi_kazuya , which featured Echo Locations co-founder @antonioelgeta as the first guest DJ. This mix perfectly captures Kozue's energy, but with a particularly dark and vintage touch, and mixed entirely on vinyl. Link in bio 🤍
