Clip 5 The final video clip from my projected Video Reel from Carsick Charlie's Ep Release Exhibition, C2: Metamism. This video uses some archival footage from the 1900s. Appropriately named "Serpentine Dance", the movement in this choreography enchantingly hypnotises us into a mesmerised stare drawing us in on every swoosh of layered fabric. I was especially bewitched by the movement of the dancer's dress. I knew that by editing it, it would create this otherworldly new form that would almost pose as a glimpse behind the conspiracy curtain. The edit I used on this video was a glass like effect :) Video: 'Dance Serpentine' part of the "Miss Lina Esbrard. Danseuse cosmopolite et serpentine" by Alice Guy, 1902, short film, 2 minutes Music: "Be" by Carsick Charlie

Clip 4 This video was used as the Spotify clips for both "Be All End All' and "Be" in Carsick Charlie's latest EP release. This clip is also from the beginning of my video reel at The Alchemy Experiment exhibition. This clip uses a few videos cut up and blended into each other. The layering of the dancing characters in the second part creates this feeling of immortalised nostalgia, as the depth created from the layered dancing forms makes it so you can't quite figure out what the video is but you still get this visual of old tapes filmed over each other. It was important that I tried to focus on the conceptual storytelling in my work as this was a crucial element of Carsick Charlie's New Ep, C2 Metamism. I was challenged to create this sense of grievance and looking back on the past but a past that had been intertwined with technology almost digitally scrambled by some robot/alien life. Video 1: 'How to Communicate with Aliens', Tomorrow's World, BBC, 1966 Video 2: 'Neptune's Daughters' by Frederick S. Armitage, 1900 Video 3: "Le départ d'Arlequin et de Pierrette" by Alice Guy, 1900, short film, 2 minutes Music: 'Be All End All', Carsick Charlie

Clip 3 This video clip is used as the spotify clip for Carsick Charlie's song 'Metamism'. The video uses footage from an old BBC program that I have distorted using a variety of effects that have ended up creating this sort of robotic effect on the human forms on screen. I think this is a nice fit for the conceptual storyline that we were trying to fit within. Clip 2 I felt this video was very otherworldly, it almost looks cellular with the effects I have added. I felt that this was a nice nostalgic nod with the use of a childhood tv show but with a flavour of being corrupted by conspiracy and digitisation. Video: "Watch with Mother - Bill and Ben: The Flowerpot Men - The Potato Man" by BBC, 1953 Look back to the first post of this series for more information on the concept of these videos.

Clip 1 The first of the few clips I've taken from my projected video reel displayed at the C2:Metamism exhibition at @thealchemyexperiment for @charlietheeband 's EP release exhibition. We were given a very unusual conceptual path to work along, taking inspiration from grief and nostalgia but also more eccentric things like the idea of alien abductions, conspiracy theories and, something inhuman. With the guidance of @charlietheeband we selected archival footage with the aesthetics of this concept in mind to be transformed into a hypnotic video reel which was projected on fabric in the alchemy experiment - more to come on that. Video: "Le départ d'Arlequin et de Pierrette" by Alice Guy, 1900, short film, 2 minutes Enjoy
