Inspired by the natural environments that surround our homes, ‘turn down the sun’ is the stunning new EP from Be Still the Earth (Colorado, US) and Memories of the Forgotten (Lantau, Hong Kong). Featuring organic shimmers, subtle nature sounds, deep bass tones, and fragmented synth melodies, this four-track project evokes a uniquely grounded atmosphere of introspection and wonder.

Today sees the launch of a brand new (and as of yet unnamed!) Salt of the Sound project that we’ve been working on over the first few months of the year...
We have felt increasingly inspired to write an EP that aims to mimic the voices of earth and nature sounding together as one, using dreamy lyric-less vocal textures alongside overlapping guitar, synth, and piano melodies.
everything breathes is the first single from this new project, the title of which is taken from Psalm 150 ‘let everything that has breath, praise...’
Whether this track forms part of your morning commute, daily soundtrack, or evening meditation, we hope it inspires a sense of peace…

I’m so pleased to share Worlds: Imagined with you today! ✨
The album was heavily inspired by the mysteries of our human existence and place in the universe, while also exploring a musical expression that is expansive, unpredictable, yet simultaneously introspective and peaceful.
From a production standpoint, it’s probably my most analog and ‘out of the box’ release to date - most of the tracks were created using a variety of ‘real’ instruments, pedals, tape processing, and other more experimental techniques.
Worlds: Imagined is also the fourth and final instalment in my ‘Worlds’ series. My aim was to try to give each album a unique flavour both in terms of theme and style, and I hope you’ve enjoyed the listening journey as much as I have enjoyed creating these albums 💙
Oh, and a huge thanks to the one and only @marshallusinger for the beautiful mastering (and collaboration on Moonstone), to @thejoylee for the incredible artwork, as well as to the fine folks over at @identitymusic for their excellent distribution.
